Video Lag
Lately I've been getting video lag when trying to play the game. I THINK it started after the most recent windows update, but I'm not 100% sure on that. It only seems to happen in Dusk. Other games like Amid Evil are fine. The music plays but the video will pause every few seconds for a second or so.

I've tried changing all the settings that I can find, resolutions, fullscreen, v-sync, even the fullscreen patch with the replacement DLL but nothing seems to help.

I have a GeForce GTX 1080 with driver version 441.87

Here is a youtube link showing the issue: https://youtu.be/57rHwbNQcLY

I'd recommend trying to verify the game files or better yet completely uninstall and reinstall the game. Windows updates can sometimes cause weird side effects with certain software.

Respond back here if this doesn't make the issue go away and we'll troubleshoot it further.

Thanks for the reply. I verified the game files but still had the issue. Uninstalled the game and reinstalled and same thing. I also did an in place reinstall of the steam client just in case to see if that would help and still no change.

I've also tried running it with steam in offline mode, anti virus disabled, and even moved the installation from my SSD to my HDD and still no change.

While trying to troubleshoot this, I noticed that the steam overlay was also lagging out while in game. That led me to do some testing on the steam client itself and I saw that typing in some fields also felt a little laggy.

I bit the bullet and did a backup of all my games and save data and did a full uninstall and registry removal of steam https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9609-OBMP-2526, reboot, fresh install, and it seem to be working fine now.

I have no idea why this didn't seem to affect any other games that I tested. Sorry for the trouble.

That's pretty bizarre for sure.
I'm glad to see you managed to find the cause of the issue though!

Whelp. It was fine for a few days, but now the issue is back again :(
Looking at my app list, the only thing that's been installed in the last few days are some MS Visual C++ Redistributables and flash player. Could one of these be causing the issue?

Edit: Uninstalling the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) - 14.22.27821" seems to fix the issue. I'm assuming another game installs that when I try to play it.
