Weird Screen Border Accident

Just bought the game, and absolutely love it! However, halfway through E1M2, somehow I accidentally caused a screen border to surround the field of view, and I have no idea how to fix it. Has anyone else had this issue? It's basically a frame with a rock-wall texture. I don't think it's a glitch, as it's similar to some borders found in source ports like GZDoom, for example.

necroing the thread but minus and plus keys dont work for me. Any other ideas you guys can help me with? Only the underscore puts the borders and shortens the screen as I press it more. No other key to reverse it.

try whatever key = is on

tried it and it just gives me the cigar. Could it be because I changed some of the key bindings?

ah well just got back on the old save and used that one portal that was for cowards and actually got some achievements from that so at least it wasnt all for nothing heh. Thanks for the attention though and that one arena with no cover/blue matrix trees were a blast it was amazing. really pushed my ♥♥♥♥ in for a bit there but pulled through. Overall thanks for the amazing game.

Make sure you try combination with shift perhaps? it will be ONE of the keys on your keyboard, you just have to find it! I'm unfamiliar with the turkish layout so it is difficult!

now that I am past that point actually its all good. Just beat Jakob as a matter of fact hehe. But I will try the combinations out of curiosity. Thanks alot for the attention and the great game guys! Definetely looking forward for more and will make sure at least one of my pals get the game lol

- I can zoom out with the "-" key and get a border
- But I can't seem to zoom in with the "+" key.

You suggested the "=" Key but this doesn't seem to work. I also tried clicking any keys, but it doesn't really work. So my question is:

My relevant specs:

- I bought the gog version of the game
- I use Ubunut (Linux)
- I use the german Keyboard Layout
- Keyboards I tried it on:
- Masterkeys PRO S (doesn't have a numpad)
- Cherry KC 1000 (has numpad)

Here are some followup findings from playing around:

- The border changes in-game and in the save/load menu
- The state of the border gets saved into the save file so there is no possibility to simply change a line in a file to make it disappear (at least not with unreasonable afford)
- Dusk seems to detect the actual keypresses, not the typed keycodes. I am not sure why. I come to this conclusion because it "-" key works no matter what modifier keys I press
- I tested every key on my keyboard (Masterkeys PRO S) and another keyboard with numpad (Cherry KC 1000). No key made the border smaller

I think the issue could be one of these:

- the key is hardcoded in the game and simply doesn't exist on my keyboard. I am gonna proof this hypothesis in time with a script that emulates a keyboard.
- the key is overridden by another key that does something else

My fix would be to add the keybinding to the keybindings, or remove the keybinding and add the setting to the settings. I understand this can be hard, however this broke my safe.
