1. Fun factor accounts for 60/100 points
2. Replay ability 20/100
3. Game length 20/100
Once you acquired the base score you divide it by the price and get your enjoyment per dollar ratio. It's really simple.
The textures/models etc? If so, to be fair it is purposefully like that. Lots of 2D indie games do it, when they don't need to & it can be pretty pants when forced. But here it is perfect imho, considering the type of games it is in homage to - but is taste.
I do, but misunderstood whether you did, so apologies on that - hard to tell if you even knew there was strafe jumping etc in this game just based on your comment.
I agree there - certainly simpler than Quake's, but then again the air movement etc feels damn fluid & is very fun within the game. I wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was more 'realistic' on that front. But again - taste
Not only that, but it was also proven possible to get all 4 medals at the same time. Don't remember how though.
Jokes aside, like all the other classic FPS games, this game doesn't have 10 minutes of forced scripted sequences/cutscenes every 30 minutes, or put you in a locked room until you kill all the enemies, so if that's not cup of your tea then refund it. However you'll get your money worth if you actually play the game to appriciate the level design and consider its replayability and finding secrets.
Whether if you like that is up to you, but I personally prefer 5-9 hours of well-crafted singleplayer campaign, rather than forced 40 hours of grinding mess, that they spreaded time it takes to complete the game so they can charge $50 for a game.
My thoughts exactly!,the overall gameplay is a refreshing change to all recent Top Shelf shooters costing three times this game costs...bring it on Blood Interactive! :)
Some times I use the rationale of $1/hour is good. So if were to get about 15 to 20 hours out of Dusk. I would say yes this is a good purchase.
You have to ask yourself do I like killing monsters over and over again with a variety of guns.
If yes, get the game. If not maybe check out something with more longevity like AMID EVIL. I think that's longer. Could be wrong, though
Its like buying a bar of chocolate, eat 2/3 of it, relize you dont like it then try and get your money back.
Or someone pays between 10-20 quid on a cinema ticket for a film that will last a couple hours average, they come out and decide they dont like it, would you then expect a refund for that reason...ofc you wouldnt, its taking the piss.
You paying for the experiance at the end of the day not how many hours you get from it, what is seen so far it was an instant buy, looking forward to playing it.
