DUSK

Camera spinning glitch
This seems to be a bug not entirely tied to DUSK alone as a couple of these throwback FPS indies have suddenly booted up with the camera constantly twirling to the sky, no matter which control input I go with. Very odd how both DUSK and SUFFER started out fine, but when I recently tried to play them again for review, I can't when my character keeps aiming at the sky and rotating.

I verified game files, and that's not the cause, so what is???

Do you have any input devices connected apart from your keyboard and mouse? Do you have any input device drivers installed that might interfere? I've had this issue with several games using the xbox one wireless controller. Even only connecting it would cause the same issue you're describing. Connecting it via USB solved it for me.

Some people have had issues in games just by having joy2key installed as well. But I think with unity engine games the problem has usually ended up with people having a joystick or controller connected. I had it with Turok (which I know, is on the kex engine, not unity), once I disconnected my wireless 360 dongle the problem stopped.

Not with me. As I must state, my game was acting up regardless of the PS4 controller input or a Keyboard & Mouse, which previously, both options were accessible to these games.

Do me a favor and navigate to the game's options and then the input settings. Look for the following option and make sure it is set to "OFF"

Let me know if this fixes your issue.

It does, but I still find it odd that I was able to play an hour of DUSK fine with a PS4 controller input, then come back with this issue.

Yeah that certainly is odd... How long ago were you playing using a PS4 controller without issue? We made some changes to how controller is handled over the past few weeks; I hope that didn't cause problems. I've also personally run into issues (quite recently too) where Steam's big picture global settings will update and attempt to use controllers plugged in as mice. That might be a source of the issue as well.

If you have a chance try messing with the controller settings in
Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings

At any rate, we have future plans for improving the controller experience and I apologize the game has given you so much grief.

hi, i know this is a bit late, but my controller was constantly looking up and left into the sky like you described, if like me you were using a ps4 controller with the wireless adaptor and using ds4windows to convert it to Xinput, i managed to fix this in this way:

close the game with controller disabled in the game options
quit and restart your pc
load ds4windows
start the game up again and load your save with mouse and keyboard
then go to options and re enable controller

hope this helps anyone with the same issue

Go to device manager in windows. Uninstall vjoy and virtual HID device. Reboot. No more spinning, Worked for me.
