What is spinning your weapon useful for?
At first I thought it was some sort of a quick melee move, but some weapons don't even deal damage when spinning them... so maybe it is intended for something else?

The weapons do in fact deal damage if you spin them, just not all of them. Its based mostly off how the animation looks. Does it look like it could hurt someone? Then yeah it probably does. You can test this very easily by standing near a wall and checking for a hit decal. However they deal extremely minimal damage, and is mostly there just to look cool.

I like it. To me, it adds a little levity or humor to the carnage.

I like to beat some enemies up with dual pistols.

And an achievement. It can stagger certain enemy types as well.

The weapon spin feels super cool. As someone who's trained by other FPS to hit reload after a scenario, it just looks awesome. Style on 'em.
