Maybe eventually!

I doubt it, this model was discontinued for a reason - I believe it was John Carmack who said that lots of people thought shareware of DOOM was enough and didn't bother with buying the full thing. The reason id Software used the model again for Quake had something to do with them trying to get past the publishers' (GT Interactive) restrictions, but I can't remember the details. That being said, a one-level demo (like the new DOOM) would be nice.

I'm also interested in DuskWorld open beta - is it open for everyone or just people who bought the game? The former would be nice as it would make the player count bigger.

Oh, but now we have unfinished games with lootboxes so it's not really better...

Anyway I second it for the 1 level demo

Making a demo featuring the first three levels would be good enough (since E1M3 is a bit long and has a mini-boss fight).

I'd settle for a small room with objects just to gauge performance.

There's no way I am going to buy this if it runs anything lower than perfect 60 fps on my gaming rig.

Yeah it might be a good idea (don't spoil too much tho ^^')

A testing performance room? Like in Counter Strike Source? Why not?

I'm still for an exclusive demo episode, Jazz Jackrabbit style.

What's Jazz Jackrabbit?

Also it reminds me of the Stanley Parable demo (which is different than the full game) and the Broforce Demo (which was an entirely different episode)

While I love the idea of a shareware episode I agree that it might be a bit much - there's merit to the argument that many players will be satisfied by that point and move on instead of buying. A single level demo is way too little though, you need to give players enough time to warm up to the game as well. I think the suggestion of releasing a demo with the first three levels, particularly considering the mini boss, is pretty much perfect. Maybe add on a final fourth level from later in the game if the devs think there is a particular level that showcases the game well

+1
That probably would be a good idea. To seduce people. A two level demo.

Seduce? Lol I never though I would see that for a game
Damien Azreal Jan 21, 2018 @ 4:03pm
The word "seduce" is not solely a sexual term.

It basically means to attract someone to a certain idea or activity or item.
You can seduce someone to decide to change jobs, to buy a certain product.

Yeah sorry my bad. Same for the concept of excitement or many other words...

Anyway I would like to try the game before buying it (And yes I plan to do it so afterward) because I wanna taste it before bitting it
