Why was the amazing Trophy Lodge glitch removed while gamebreaking issues remain for years?

The Trophy Lodge glitch was completly harmless and added a whole new range of amazing customization to the lodges. Yet ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and severe bugs like the ATV camera glitch, disappearing tracks, animals getting stuck, hundreds of game crashes and more remain like they were years ago. Truely disappointing developers, I regret having bought the DLC today.

I'd hazard a guess they're referring to the technique where you can place any animal on any plaque/display.

You could put any animal on any plaque so some people (a small population) were putting animals where they wanted them to be logically, the rest of them were putting buffalo on rabbit/duck stands and vice versa.

Yeah I was one of the people using it sensibly. Not that I mind people using it for derp, I mean, it's their lodge, it doesn't hurt anyone else's game. Don't get why it was patched at all, it was too complex a thing to be done accidentally anyway, you had to know how to do it from reading guides and stuff.

It was a harmless and simple glitch that allowed you to place any trophy on any full body mount / wall plaque, even if the plaque/mount was normally too small for that animal. You know how most trophy plaques currently are pretty oversized for the actual animals that are allowed on it? The trophy lodge glitch changed this and allowed for crazy and beautiful setups where you could mount any animal anywhere you wanted, giving you a great amount of freedom and creative options. There was zero reason to "fix" this.

I guess it may have been a priority patch because such a glitch may have indicated bad or weak code or even a breach in the code which could have allowed people with less warm-hearted more malicious intentions to damage the trophy lodge making it unplayable for everyone?

Unsure as to why it was "fixed" so soon although it may have just been a periphoral bug that was K.O.'d with the new game patches by happenstance.

TreeKiwi, the Community Manager of this game said on discord a few hours ago that the reason they fixed it was because some people in Twitch chat asked them when it would be fixed a few times. That apperantly was reason enough to warrent a "fix" so soon. Might have also something to do with the fact that EW ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up pretty badly a few weeks ago when they didn't clarify the rules on a discord lodge contest, and 2 people with beautiful glitch-decorated lodges won, which made the losers throw a massive tantrum about it. Instead of owning up to having made a mistake by being unclear about the rules, EW stayed completly silent about it and now removed the glitch.

What a load of crap!
It didn't hurt anyone and the mounts are way to big for the most part for the animal you want to mount. I will no longer buy any DLC for this game, vote with your wallet.

This is "easily" solved if the plaques were independent of the the mounting point. Ideally the user should be able to mount what they want, where they want, but if this is not ideal from some legit technical issue, then the plaque size should be set afterwards. For example, say there was a "mounting point" on a wall for medium or smaller trophies. You select an animal for that but then (because it might look better) decide to use a small plaque (which is only cosmetic), or even no plaque at all (for head-only mounts).

Fortunately, the fix doesn't seem to have impacted glitched specimens retroactively, just been in my lodge and found my Black Bear, which I glitch placed, is still on his mount. Guess it just means you can't put new trophies on mounts via the glitch

I agree with this...some of the plaques do look oversized for the animal, and without being able to rotate animals on some of the floor stands it can look silly. In some places you can have predators chasing prey, but at the next pair of stands you have them standing backside to backside. Didn't make much sense.
