You're Welcome XD
I didn't really have anything else to do so I just ran calculations real quick to pass time, counting down the hours to that new map!
Speaking of, what will you enjoy most about the new map? Personally I'm gonna enjoy the wolves with their distant howling, confrontational behavior both alone and in packs with the player, and also having interactions with the bison!
ZaggiDK made a video on it, here's the link if you haven't seen it yet:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eG748p8VjCE
the interaction between the Gray Wolf pack and the Plains Bison starts at timestamp 2:43 but the video is only 4:13 long so you can also watch it through if you have the patience.
Edit: Grammar and spelling
Alaska's landscape just has something else to it I mean the current other maps and the real life locations that they are based upon are all beautiful, Africa and Patagonia (Argentina) in particular, but there's just something else about the final frontier, it's vast untamed and unsettled landscapes that just make you fall in love with it and its wildlife.
I also have had Alaska as my number one want since the game launched and now that it's coming I've only got one thing left on the list and that's an American Southwest map.
I'd like an Alaskan Arctic Steppe Grasslands map to address polar bears and also muskox, arctic fox, snowshoe hare, snow geese etc, no such thing as too many Alaskan maps!
and having Kodiaks in the game would be awesome since they'd be even bigger than the Grizzlies on Yukon which max at 680 kilograms or 1,496 pounds which is the average weight from grown male Kodiaks, and I've heard of 1,600 1,700 and 1,800 pound + Kodiaks so those would be fun to hunt for sure.
Oh I didn't even think about that, if they didn't add Aurora Borealis I may not be able to bring myself to hunt at night without being depressed! XD
That being said if it has been added combined with the stillness of the crisp Yukon air, the distant howls of Wolves and the chirps and hoots of the Harlequin Ducks it may have the best night time atmosphere of any map in the game!
Yeah, I can't imagine the AB not being on a map that's based in Northwestern Canada\Northeastern Alaska, but regardless of that I'm surprised at the lack of medium sized game animals on the Yukon map, I mean the smallest animal is the wolf and it can take a hit from the 7mm or the .454 because it's a class three animal, that being said I can't imagine that it will be too long before we see Dall Sheep or something similar on the Yukon like Sitka Blacktails.
Well it's 9:00 A.M. and holy crow was I far off with the estimate! XD
Oh and btw, your time zones and time are off, it's Pacific time not Western, and it would have been noon to 1pm ;)
Sitka deer would be cool, they could easily add Caribou also as they have Reindeer in MedVed (same species, Caribou are just larger) Fox or coyote also but maybe they don't want 2 canines in the map already having wolves. Different type of rabbit maybe? cotton tail or such, maybe even badgers or wolverines?
I'd like to see Dall and Bighorn sheep, as the Dall are in the Northwest Canada/Southeast Alaska region and Bighorn range from Southwest Canada clear down to the southwest US states.
The animals currently on the map are Plains Bison, Grizzly bears, Moose, Gray Wolves, Caribou, Red Fox and Harlequin Ducks.
I would also love to see sheep on the Yukon but I don't know if the Bighorn's range goes that far North, the Dall sheep however would be a perfect addition along with some form of deer like Sitka Blacktails or Mule deer (if the antlers ever get made proper) and I'd love to see a trapping aspect with wolverines or badgers, that would open up a bunch of possibilities, and also give me something else to do after I get burned out on Yukon, if that's even possible.
Edit: Also, thanks for correcting my timezones!
