Absurd. Just absurd.
The people who are saying it's not difficult are lying. The difficulty of the enemies are worse than the max difficulty in previous versions. Once you're under attack you'd better either leave or die. There is no way to fight through. And when a mission involves storming a base, forget it. I don't know what game you guys are playing but it's not this one.

It wasn't like this on release. They weren't anywhere near as mind numbingly annoying and stupid as they are now. Before they were pretty much just enemies, and they weren't that difficult. Now you get in one contact and suddenly the whole army descends on you. They can even spawn a few metres from you and suicide right into you - and that's mostly the drones, but helicopters will do it too, and people will spawn really close to your location.

Stability wise it's got much better, but the gameplay got worse. Apparently Avalanche dared to dream and made it a significantly worse experience all round.

i wouldn't listen to either of these posts.

i personally dont want easy enemies. if you are having problems just hover board away, you can easily escape on the board.

technically ... you can win ,but it feels like you are supposed to spam in your drones like rockethead etc ,however .... the ai is that bad since last update that you barely get support nowadays from your army of chaos and your drones destroy themself rather than being usefull or just wait to get shot down ,which takes hiliariously a looong time ,since the tank sometimes misses them xD

The brawler mech is some kind of "help/fix".

You can also hide from them in bushes sometimes it works xD or on trees ,if they are high enough or fast travel away or hoverboard away, but in all honest ... that last patch seriously broke the heat system.Sometimes its flickering from red to yellow in miliseconds soo fast or yellow icon never dissapears or enemies just randomly spawn somewhere and see you through walls ?

Like i had one single black hand buggy driving into a wall ,while i was on the hill other side and yet this guy saw me ,because as soon as i shoot that guy i got yellow.

Also something is wrong with the army of chaos ... they barely spawn lately to help you ,but the black hand does spawn more often or you sometimes instantly lose heat ,while they next to you.

i want a fix for that asap xD

I found JC4 to be too easy. Most of my deaths were due to ridiculous ragdoll times that actually being gunned down in proper fire fight.
Also Just Cause 2 was the only game [if my memory of JC1 is correct] to have difficulty setting, and that was not in game at launch. JC3 needed some, badly.

The game is getting more difficult but I can still manage the missions against humans. I don't know how many "Destroy the Source" missions I've completed but I'd say half a dozen. The latest one appears to be impossible. The cannons defending the source cannot be destroyed and there are a lot of them. They also don't miss. I've emptied all my weapons into one cannon and it's still shooting me. I can't stay alive long enough to destroy the source, and unlike the previous source missions, any damage I do to it, is undone as soon as I die. I just spent a solid hour dying and got nowhere. I'm done with that part of the story line.

Is there some secret to destroying the source's cannons that I'm just missing?

Not too far into the game as a whole, but I've played around on my own a good bit. Using the wingsuit with the jet and missiles seems to be the best bet for getting around without dying. It's definitely a bit over the top how quickly the tanks show up, and how many tanks an helicopters swarm at once. I'm usually able to play around with grappling around, hijacking enemy vehicles and stuff for a few minutes before getting blasted.
One thing that's a bit odd is that it's often easier to take out enemies with the grapple retraction and jets than with weapons...
If I die in battles, it's usually from the heavily armored vehicle I'm in suddenly exploding, which seems to happen faster than in previous games in the series.

I just started playing with the hoover board and I've got to say it's going to take some getting used to-especially when it likes to get stuck on objects or corners. And the amount of bullets you put in on one enemy is absurd. I couldn't believe it took at least 12 to down a regular grunt. WTF Av?

The transmitter missions. The ones you have to guard. They wouldn't be so bad if 1: The transmitter wasn't made of paper, and 2: You didn't get swarmed by enemies from all directions constantly. Holy f*ing crap, do I hate them.

And those immortal cannons? What's up with that?

I finished the game so fast. The grapler hook makes it so easy :D

Dude you just suck, no offense. Rico's a bullet sponge and so are the vehicles he's driving...
I've not found a big issue with the base game, but the Demon expansion, utterly ridiculous. I have battled through it but the difficulty of clearing the infestations is ludicrous

The only difficulty with the base game is how shockingly poor the AI drives around air units. most of my deaths came from the AI not being able to fly properly causing a lot of accidental crashes, i mean it suited the purpose of stopping me during a rampage but under ideal conditions and the AI could fly a lot better, i'd be able to dance between dozens of enemies in the air and on the ground without much trouble at all and never die from it, unless i got too cocky and started bringing in heavy cannons or fixed mortar cannons, the sort of thing that can put Rico flat on the ground and while near death.

JC3 and 4 are not that hard to stick it out and dominate Rambo style.

The Demons expac is an interesting one, at first i didn't like it all that much, but this last play through i was eager to play it out again because it's such a unique experience in the game. i actually sat out there in and around the demon infestation points and just took the time to observe it all, the chaos of the whole thing. i mean, so long as you got a rocket launcher capable of launching many rockets in one shot, you should be okay for the final approach to the thing in the middle, while parachuting one good shot will knock out two of the three weak points and then do it again quickly for the third while parachuting.

some of these weak points to withdraw tendrils can be a nice challenge, some of these invasion areas have tendrils that have taken over black hand military vehicles and if you aren't ready to destroy them quickly, you are likely to die from it. but the best weapon i've found for dealing with the small flying demons is the niagara SMG from the CIA subs. it's the most powerful weapon on the game when dealing with your enemies in general, the demons go down quickly to a shot or two from that gun, far, far better than that crossbow you are given.

not all of them and some can explode before you can jump out.
