No C4!?!?

I just started the game, am about an hour in an thought maybe you get C4/placeable charges from someone(like the missions that give you new toys thus far), but I am reading there are NO explosive charges you can put down anymore? Is this true? WTF?

No C4, No grenades and base liberation are gone too! Just Cause 4 is

c4 is replaced by mine gun, grenades is replaced by grenade launcher...

thats what they do atm with the game... :(


you can manually detonate mines after you stick it to the object tho :(

but still... its not a C4 :(

The balloon and booster have mods that can make them cause a explosion
the balloon can be set to be filled with hydrogen so when it pops it explodes
the booster can be set to overclock when the booster times out using the auto of tap settings it explodes
You need 2 of either to destroy a car, you can place plenty of these explosives at range and have no ammo limit for them, its probably why they removed C4

What made them think most of these changes were a good idea? I like that weapons have secondary fire modes and the wheather stuff, but...... jesus! You guys didn't have to strip all the good stuff from the game to incorporate these new mechanics!

Well you can unlock a mod for the airlifter that has exploding balloons (press x to remove balloons/detonate)

It's not that strong,but you can put 10 of them

you can set boosters to explode after they burn out. not a great replacement to c4 tho.

Those funny things with airlifters and stuff is NO compensation for real C4.

Yeah, the possible load-outs suck in JC4.

JC3 had this:
- Weapon 1
- Weapon 2
- Weapon 3
- Grenades
- Mines
- Grappling Hook

JC4 only has this:
- Weapon 1
- Weapon 2
- Grappling Hook

The worst part about that is you need to limit yourself even more in your weapon choice if you want to have grenades and mines because those are now part of certain weapons and aren't available otherwise.

Also, I agree C4 was a fun way to take down a base, blowing half of it up from far away while engaging the enemy was a super satisfying way to assault a base. I can't think oof a single reason, from a developers standpoint, of removing it. Perhaps there will be a C4 DLC, just to further monetize the game?
