SCUM
MRE?
Every single game that has MRE in them is always the same... treats MRE like a burger inside a plastic bag... no game developers ever tryed to open an actual MRE i bet... a real life MRE contains many food sources inside

General contents may include:

Main course (often referred to as "the main")
Side dish
Dessert or snack (often commercial candy, fortified pastry, first strike bar, or Soldier Fuel Bar.)
Crackers or bread
Spread of cheese, peanut butter, or jelly
Powdered beverage mix: fruit flavored drink, cocoa, instant coffee or tea, sport drink, or dairy shake.
Utensils (in rare occasions, a full set is included – with a spoon, fork and knife – but most commonly only a plastic spoon is given)
Flameless ration heater (FRH)
Beverage mixing bag
Accessory pack:
Xylitol chewing gum
Water-resistant matchbook
Napkin / toilet paper
Moist towelette
Seasonings, including salt, pepper, sugar, creamer, and/or Tabasco sauce
Freeze dried coffee powder
(this is writen in the wiki)

So yea i expect a MRE to be treated as something more than a burger in a plastic bag at this point

I mean, I get what you are saying 100%, but what would you doo with all of that? and would that complexity and detai.l actually add substance to the game? As someone who has eaten tons of MREs, that's all mostly true, but idk what making the MRE super meta would do for us in any real way SCUM wise.

well it wouldn't do much if i am being honest... its not like asking to make MRE op but just adding these small extra details on realistic is something players would appreciate... MRE could be like the Christmas presents that you open up and find many stuff inside.. so i was thinking something like this
I'm with HyperLethalNova in not seeing it add anything positive to the game for most players. People already complain about having to load their magazines one bullet at a time. It's an OK concept, but not practical from the game perspective. Just my 2 cents.

MREs have a wide range, it can be a box full of goodies or a bag with just one burger in it. Thats why its called "meal ready to eat".
I'm gonna second (or third or w/e) the OP by saying the MRE should really have more nutritional impact. THE MRE's in the game are clearly supposed to be american style military MRE's, not those crappy MRE star knock offs.
From the US Army website:
"Generally, a MRE contains the following items:
Entree - the main course, such as spaghetti or beef stew
Side dish - rice, corn, fruit, or mashed potatoes, etc.
Cracker or bread
Spread - peanut butter, jelly, or cheese spread
Dessert - cookies or pound cakes
Candy - M&Ms, Skittles, or Tootsie Rolls
Beverages - Gatorade-like mixes, cocoa, dairy shakes, coffee, tea
Hot sauce or seasoning - in some MREs
Flameless Ration Heater - to heat the entree
Accessories - spoon, matches, creamer, sugar, salt, chewing gum, toilet paper, etc.
Each MRE provides an average of 1,250 calories (13 percent protein, 36 percent fat, and 51 percent carbohydrates) and one-third of the Military Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamins and minerals. A full day's worth of meals would consist of three MREs."

that's what i'm talking about...!!!
I was disappointed that I bought 3 at the trader for an outrageous amount and after eating it my character was still starving. I figured for the price it would be like a real MRE and atleast fill me up for a while. Just make them more nutritional.
