.. like the rebar cutter is a toe nail cutter.
on top of that, the nails have been laying around since the beginning.
long before crossbows were even a thought.
There are cordless drills, why not nail guns?
Who's bashing the person? I merely disagreed with the proposed idea. Ideas are not people.
I did a bit of research on the general 'nail gun as projectile weapon' idea, and everything i read convinces me to stick with the superior and more lethal weapon - a stone knife.
I know everyone hates the idea.

this guy should have gone cordless, which they do make.

Why are people in such a hurry to discredit an idea without investigating anything?
I will take the 100 round staple gun over an incredible stone knife any day.
I was in the construction field for 25 years. And yes, we did this kind of thing with just about every tool we had, hand-held, hydraulic and even motor driven. The first video is luck, and from a very heavy framing nailer. Nails aren't even remotely aerodynamic. There's going to be just about zero consistency in the projectiles fired. Unless your up close like Jerry is with the staple gun (I love his videos and would not want him angry with me) the nails are going to start tumbling almost immediately and most shots will just slap against whatever they hit. And unless it's that heavy a nail gun AND you're toting around a backpack air compressor even larger than the pressure tank Jerry is wearing you're only going to have maybe 30 shots before your pressure drops off and your out of luck.
All of these issues are magnified with the staple gun, with it's even less aerodynamic ammo shape and lighter weight. That's why Jerry is standing so close to his cardboard targets.
I thought of the possibility of a powder-actuated version (they use explosive charges to drive their fasteners), but common nails would be a very bad idea in those. They're made for treated fasteners that get driven into things like concrete and steel. Misfires and high degradation indeed. They'd also be subject to the same aerodynamics issues.
I'd rather not see one in Scum, but I'm not opposed to the idea of the nailgun in-game if the devs wanted to add one. I don't have to use it, and it is a game after all. But the idea of using one as a functional even remotely reliable weapon is myth. The version you see in games like Rust is myth sprinkled with fairy dust.
The only accurate depiction I've ever seen of a nail gun being used as a weapon, and they had to ruin it by letting audiences think that the plastic would hold that guy up...
