Or have some sort of visual indicator of what channel your currently typing in.
Presses TAB
"Your are typing in the local channel"
Presses TAB
"Your typing in the global channel"
Maybe something like that
I don't like the idea of a player list, takes the suspense out of the game and will help with player tracking.
For example, if you attack an enemies base and kill him, a couple days later you might see him online again in the player list and go "hey I know where he camps out let's go kill him again seeing he's online" mainly because you know he's online.
But as we are making suggestions here I would like to add this: slash commands (as seen in many games).
"/g" for global chat
"/s" for squad chat
"/v" for vicinity chat (what's the range for this anyway?)
