How big is a cooking pot compared to your backpack??
Maybe they could make the cooking pot with slots within the backpack.
So the pot has only weight but dosnt use any slots.
You can only put stuff in it that fit
But there is a bowl in the gameto cook. Somewhere havnt found one yet.
And there is a cooking pan without any purpose than punching or throwing with
Add new cooking pots to the game (might be the same model but different size) and bind the size of the meal you cook to the pot size. The bigger the pot - the more meals it holds.
suggestions of sizes are trivial
plate - 1x2
small pot - 2x2
high pot - 2x3
wide pot - 3x2
large pot (already exists) - 3x3
maybe

would work too

Simple fix to this is you make it hang from your swag/backpack (like real bushmen do) so it doesn't take up any room, downside is it clanks around and makes noise as you move, this way people can choose to carry it and when they get close to a town/base/whatever they can drop the items like pot and cup hanging from pack so as not to make any noise while they loot or sneak up on others.
I'm not against, but! do we really need so many pots? I mean, they would have to make 3d models and code it all since we will expect them to look different yet all behave correctly. Do you really want SCUM devs put so much time and effort into... a pots?
I would be more than happy with 1 pot, the current one but just make it 2x2 in your inventory instead 3x3. For real, how many pots survival game needs?
Instead of making completly unnecessary Pots Seller Simulator, I would like to see devs give us some use for a frying pan, there is lovely frying pan in a game and completly no use for it unless us it as melee.
Also instead of making so many pots I would like to see a thermos for example, you will be able to boil a water at fire and hold hot water there so you can use it to warm yourself when you feel cold. Isn't that more fun than... a wide pot or a high pot? I believe it is. Someone gonna have to sit and make 3d model of thermos or another pot, what would you prefer to see in a game?
Current pot probably would even take 3x3 space in a backpack because it's big but because just like you said, you would normaly put things inside the pot so you wouldn't waste so much space as you waste with current 3x3 pot, making it 2x2 does the trick. it's not about making it physical smaller, it's about how you look at it, even if you believe current pot is 3x3 in size ( that takes 9 slots of space in backpack ) the pot is empty, so you can put smaller things inside, so making it 2x2 ( 4 slots ) give you free 5 slots. And those 5 slots can be seen as this free space inside the pot, so you can hide 2 apples, a bottle and a magazine inside the pot ( it would take exacly 5 spots ) and overall pot + those things take exacly 9 slots.
It's just about interpretation of how slot system work. Making current pot 2x2 isn't asking about making it smaller, it's about reducing it's space usage since you can put things inside a pot, so even if by size it is 3x3, in taking a space in backpack aspect it's actually 2x2.
So yea, I was actually about write that one suggestion myself and I was about to write this as my argument. It's not about make it smaller, its about interpretation of size vs true space usage.
-- I actually cooked 3 times, a pasta and vegetable soup twice ( mushrooms and cucumber ). But I had that feeling I'm dumbing myself so much due to hoarding that pot everywhere. I was often running with it in hand and start a zombie fights from throwing the pot into zombies then grab a weapon. It might sounds fun, if I think about it now it's even a good story, but it was trully an annoying thing just to try out cooking and pots are quite rare, I've found pot only twice and found a pan once. I actually threw away one pot due to frying pan I found. I didn't even examine that ( so I would know that you can't cook anything with pan ) I blindly assumed frying pan is for cooking. Yea, I remember my dissapointment when I gathered enough stuff to make a popcorn ( corn and a butter if I rememeber good, probably sea salt also but not sure ) and I found out pan is just a PUBG joke because there is no other usage than smash someones head with it. oh boy, that was a hit. from that time I said myself I won't even try to cook anything until it will be done correctly, because current pot with 3x3 slots usage is a no-no.
Same as toolbox, yet I carry one with me all the time atleast one. Also small toolbox (and it isn't that small) seems to have 2x2, a normal one ( a big one ) is 2x3, but pot is even more space-consuming with his 3x3 space usage which make it completly unpractical right now making everyone avoid cooking unless someone is very dedicated to try out this mechanic.
I understand that on single-player making own place with shelter and stuff i a fun thing, but on multi I feel like there's not enough reason to actaully put valueable things in a place that sooner or later gonna be found be someone else, so I hold all precious things on me.
Making current pot 2x2 space usage or adding a new, smaller version is a must if they would like people to enjoy cooking. I also wait for usable for cooking Frying Pan, current one is just a melee weapon.
