Seriously, please don't. I'm more of a fan of taking away the location icon.

Leave us the map but take away the location Icon.
Though to prevent putting off new players trying to find their friends there could be some kind of way of sharing your general direction to a friend with the BCU on the HUD.
This would stop once you are within a km of one another.
You could then travel generally towards one another till you meet up.

Afaik the devs plan to remove the current map eventually and replace it by mapfragments that need to be found in the world and then we won´t have an icon that shows our position anymore.
The only reason they didn´t remove it already is because it makes bugtracking easier.
Regarding a mini map, this won´t happen.

It is a (the) Survival Game but unlike others it is a bit more then a first person Builder with a Food and Water Bar =)

Youre right, this is a survival game! Delete the arrow on our map and give us a GPS/Compass! I want my map drawn in crayon.

Ok... At least keep the possibility to find pieces of the map on millitary loots... A bunch of people don't want to learn How to use location stuffs... They Just want to play... Visit New locations... play casual times... And stay walking without a purpose Will make a Lot of players quit ... My opinion... Considering BR servers and our community around here...
