-1, its fine the way it is, i would even like, the "you are here" marker on the map to be removed.

Removing the marker from the big map is insane! hehehe but I understand you about making the game as realistic as possible.

It's not that hard to get known to a map of that size. My hometown has ~900 km² and I don't need a minimap when going somewhere.

A craftable / collectable map will probably come at some point but getting to know your surroundings is part of the game, in my opinion.
There weill surely be resources like wowhead for WoW at somepoint but players should still have the chance to work it out their way.

WoW has a minimap, I'm aware.

The You are here pointer" is necessary in all games only because the world is copy / paste generated, so that outside a few kms the pattern repeats. In real life nature is no so repetitive making navigation possible.

I do want compasses and would prefer the whole map was shaded in until you discover the major points of an area one section at a time.

Iirc the plan is to remove the map as a basic feature completely - i.e. a map will be something you have to gain through gameplay, and not the current stopgap always available version we have during EA, where the map is subject to frequent change.

Interesting point of view! But what makes the biggest difference in recognizing the locations of the game is the shape of the terrain and the type of vegetation, and SCUM is doing well (only vegetation that needs more variation, it is repeating a lot). But I liked the way you compared it to the real world.

-1 on minimap

+1 on vegetation and compass.
The Island is supposed to look like Croatia.
I have never been to Croatia but when i see pictures of it it looks not much like SCUM.
I am aware that traveling magazines like to cheat on colors and how clear the water is but the waterfalls, the greens and most surprisingly there are actually Flowers in Croatia. I thought all of Croatia has only grass and dandelion.

Realistic... like the BCU on your head, like the BCU-controlled puppets, like healing a severe bullet wound within 10 minutes, like crafting stuff within seconds/minutes...

I think the area around Dubrovnik resembles the southern / coastal parts of the map quite well: https://www.boredpanda.com/tracing-game-of-thrones-filming-locations-asta-skujyte-razmiene-croatia/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic

Also it has at least a "branch" of the Alps so I think we're cool with the winter regions and if you'd drive around Zagreb I'm pretty sure some regions might look familiar.

But I'm absolutely pro more floral diversity.

It's just wrong that I have more types of berry fruits on my balcony than I can find in the game!

(I used an exclamation mark to underline both my personal concern and raised frustration)
