Can't draw bow

I cannot pull string back to shoot bow. I have 3.1 strength and am at basic archery skill level. I have tried 20# and up to 60# bows. I engage an arrow and click LMB, but nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Unfortunately I have to say that this has not happened to me before. How high is your archery skill? Have you tried a relog?

Thanks for reply, Archery skill is basic, so I should be able to at least draw the 20# bow. I get the bow in hand, hit V and then hold LMB, Nothing, I get no draw back, no shaking, nothing? I can use a crossbow, but not a bow! Really wanted to work into the compound bow, just don't get it?

I'm at 30150 XP on basic level.

With the compound bow, you don't have to worry as much. You can adjust this to your strength with the help of a toolbox.

I personally never built the #20. The #40 has been my most used bow so far. You can use it with a low archery skill.

For stronger bows like #50 you need the appropriate skill. For the #50 archery at lvl 2 and so on.

try putting bow in hand (don't hit v) left click then see if left click and hold now works

You have to hold down the left mouse button to aim an arrow, then when you are ready, let go of the mouse button to fire.

Thanks for all of the replies, unfortunately I have tried all of your suggestions. I only made the lower # bows to see if I could draw the bow string. With the basic skill level and 3.1 strength right now I should be able to pull the string back. I tried not hitting V button and just left clicking, but nothing. I just was hoping maybe there was a different way to pull the string back that I wasn't already trying. What a shame, I love the archery build where I can utilize it in games that have it. Guess it will have to be the crossbow. Thanks again!

Ok, just to make sure you're doing all the right things... you have to have either found or made some arrows, and have them in a quiver or in your pack, first. Bolts won't work, they're only for xbows. Then, you have to equip your bow and have it in your hands. Then all you have to do is HOLD DOWN the left mouse button, and watch as your char loads up an arrow and then draws the string back, which will automatically put you in aiming mode. Do not 'click' the left mouse button. HOLD it down, and keep it held down, until you are ready to release the arrow. Hope that helps.

Can you tell us which bows you are exactly using, cause we can't get this to happen for us. So your archery skill is basic and your strength on 3.1 but you can't draw from a #20 bow?

Correct. I have tried from 20# bow up to 60# bow. My archery skill is basic, (30150 xp) and my strength level is 3.1. I equip the bow and hold LMB down, arrow loads up, but will not draw arrow back. The LMB button works on everything else that it is supposed to. So I'm just standing there with a bow and arrow in place but can't draw the arrow back. I really wanted to use the bow. Thanks again

Can you somehow record this and post it somewhere so we can see what exactly is going on? This seems like a bigger issue than just skill/strength.

I'll be honest, I really don't know how to post this screenshot to you. It shows me standing there with bow in hand with arrow engaged. Also my stats for archery level and strength level. It really wouldn't do any good to record it, because all I do is stand there like in the screenshot and hit LMB and nothing happens. If you can tell me how to get this screenshot to you I would appreciate it. Thanks

Don't move while you draw for some reason you can't draw the basic bows while moving but compound bow you can

Ok, so I didn't move while trying to shoot my bow and I still can't draw string back to shoot. I've tried to shoot just about every # bow but still for some reason can't pull string back. There has to be a reason why this won't work for me. I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem. Help?
