Grenades not exploding

sometimes thrown frag grenades dont explode, you can even pick them up from the ground again. I did some testing and while i am not completely sure it tends to happen if you throw them in a certain angle mostly when the point (in the middle of the screen) is aiming directly forward.
If you pick the allready thrown and not exploded grenades back up and throw them really high, they will explode in the air, if you throw them relatively close to you on the ground they will explode too. So it is not the grenade which is bugged, it is most likely something about either throwing it, or the grenade hitting and ricocheting from the ground.

Not a video yet, but some additional info. I copied the location i threw them, i guess P is the vertical angle you are aiming.
it seems to happen somewhere within the range of about +- 5°.
Also it only happens in Multiplayer in Singleplayer all grenades explode no matter how or where you throw them.

I see this thread is about 2 years old. I have encountered the same while playing. I have uploaded a video. After being thrown, you do not see it fly through the air, hit the ground, and no explosion. https://youtu.be/3-iOfQb5RQQ

And again a year later it still exists but in both Multi & Single. You just let it drop near your feet. Not a big issue for me now, as i am super new to this game. first week. and this "feature" saves you time and nades.

EDIT: Nevermind. You press and hold the left mouse, press G to pull the Pin and let it fly. Why is this so unnecessarily complicated?
