After days of waiting for Nitrado support to unlock our Nitrado server (46.251.234.253:7857) which had become locked in a state of neither started nor stopped (yeah I know - go figure, it baffled me) it was finally running this morning but exhibiting the same problem described originally by me above - main menu shows character correctly but logging in goes direct from password popup to create new character screen and does not offer option of use existing or create new.
I then restored backup using the backup from the date xkickx said he'd investigate it with Nitrado (i.e. the last backup on the server) - loading in it did the exact same straight to create new character screen.
I'm guessing now, that this means SCUM does not run on Nitrado servers anymore? If this is the case, I'll bet Nitrado and not just me are cursing the devs and wanting a game version rollback to before the last patch.
Hey did your server log on Nitrado show a infinite set of server resets starting around the 18th/19th around the times of 5am EST or GMT? I can't seem to get a single backup to work and I've got multiple pages worth of someone (Likely Nitrado) doing these resets when I check the log. Also before your server was locked on the 17 or 18th find that you had to go in and manually reset the STOPPED game server? After not stopping it manually yourself/host self?
I'll suggest this to everyone who has problems with nitrado. Just copy your config files so new server setup is much easier.
Please pass thanks to the devs for organising that backup from the locked database.
I've applied it, but sadly it does not solve the problem - logging in still skips straight from server password popup to the new character screen, bypassing the "create new/resume existing" popup.
As the characters we're using are all fairly high level, we are all loath the scrap them and restart so we'd really like to get this gamesave working again.
It looks like the devs will have to roll back whatever affected server login processes within the 15th December update.
