SCUM

Main menu not responding on Steam Deck
Game launches just fine but the main menu screen looks weird, like the sides have been cut off. And when I clik on stuff like "single player" or "options" nothing happens so I cant start playing the game.

Edit: before the 0.96 update I was able to play Scum single player on my Steam Deck without any problems.

Hello :),

Sadly Steam Deck is not supported or Tested. So issues will likely occour if you use Steam Deck.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks for your reply, but I have to use Steam Deck because I no longer have a PC to play with

Actually, you are a rigth, I didnt do it properly the first time, but on a second try I changed the resolution to a very low one (640 x 480 or something like that) and that fixed the problem now the game looks very Bad, but at least the main menu is responding, finally I can clik stuff and I can play the game.

Thank you very much. ❤️

I'm glad you got it working. The Steam Deck's native resolution is 1280x800 so you should be able to make it a bit larger. Happy hunting!

Hey there OP, glad you were able to resolve the issue, hopefully with the resolution that marktkm provided will be ideal for you.

Yeah, now Im playing at 1280x800, the only problem is that every time I exit the game, my main menu bugs again, so every time I want to play the game again I have to go to the game folder and delete an archive called "userconfig" or something like that and then I have to change the resolution again to be able to play.

That is a bit weird definitely, not sure why that would be happening, but I can't offer much help when it comes to steam deck as I didn't get a chance to play with it that much.
Hello, I have the same problem. But how can I change the resolution without starting the game?

How did you do that?

You can launch the game in windowed mode using the Steam launch command. This should allow you to use the menu normally to configure everything as needed. Make sure the game has the same resolution as your monitor.

Here are the instructions

That is correct. You can also change the resolution in the GameUserSettings.ini
thx
It works.
I set the aspect ratio to windowed mode frameless and now it works.
