random FPS drop

I'm running 4070 Super. I get solid 150-180fps.
But in some places fps drops to 40-50 for whatever reason ?
I thought maybe its place related. Because i seem to get in often low fps in one small town. BUT NOT ALWAYS. Somewtimes it runs great 180 fps. even in same game if you go away and return.
Any ideas?

Usually happens when you enter an area that has buildings, the game needs to create all the buildings you just came up on and that can be a huge hit.

I used to have a 1070 I would normally have 70-80 fps, when I go to the big city it would drop to 10-15.
I now have a 4060 I normally get 170 but if I come up on towns it will drop to 60-70 then go back up after all is loaded.

Game is not optimized!

This also happens in different places in the forests.

I have a similar issue when approaching large bodies of water, just drops quite a lot which is odd considering how empty it is under the water.

Trees swing with the breeze all those branches and leaves moving back and forth are being animated.
The water has waves which are being animated which needs to be displayed.

I think this is what is causing the drops.

Ok then thx its not major issue just thought maybe some specific effect is killing FPS that can be turned off (like it was in 7d2d back in a day)

I'm jealous and would kill - Scum style - to get an FPS of 40-50.

Playing Scum, I get an average of 10-14 FPS on my ASUS TUF 15 Gaming Notebook. My character squatted on the roof top of a house the other night, enjoying the evening sounds, the stars and whatever that bird is that makes noises all night. My FPS was 14....just sitting there.

If you are getting 150-180 FPS then you should start watching your back. My Scum character will be looking to loot your computer. Just kidding, really. But really, where did you say your computer is located? LOL

when other players are around you may experience a lag or if its something that normaly dossent belong there and your gpu has to work.

Can you please list all your system specifications for us? Are you starting the game in DX11 or 12?

Playing in official server.
Ok so DEFINITELY happening during sunrise or sunset in B2 north east wood cabin.
Happening on 3 PCs.
4790K GF 1080gtx win10 PC
Ryzen 7 5800X GF 4070 Super win10 PC
dont know CPU but GPU is GF 970 win10 laptop
We play 3 people and just established home there and it happens always for all 3. All get drop that falls till 30 fps. In 4070 case it falls from 180 to 30. So its extreme.

also severe FPS drop to like 40 for all 3 in a middle of night in C2 Mountain tops near hunter tower. Dont know if its related but it was at night no sunrise or anything.
p.s. We saw Alien ship or whatever. Dont know if its relate or what that big ship was.
