SCUM
SCUM - FATAL ERROR
Hi Dev's,

Uhmmm... I ran into a very weird error that caused my game to shut down!

It is the very first time the game gave me this error... Please let me know what this means... Please!

All it said in the little window is "FATAL ERROR"

Here is a link to the screen shot...

I lost everything that was equipped, except my improvised axe!

Also I got teleported to a new location after I restarted SCUM.

Please... any feed back will be appreciated.

Hey there OP, could you please tell us what are your system specifications?

One thing that you can check is the verification of the game files to check for any corrupted files. Also can you please tell me if the error happened in SP or MP?

You can try deleting your SaveFiles folder (Please be aware that deleting this will delete all SP progression and characters that you might have).

It happened in Single Player Mode

Every day, when I start my PC

I connect all my external hard drives

Then I do "Disk Defragmentation on all my hard drives (Internal + External)

Then I go to Steam and I do File Verification on all my Games) I only have 4 Games though
but I play SCUM The most (Single Player Mode)

Okay thank you, I will need you to send me the SCUM folder located in %localappdata% so we can check in more detail what exactly is causing the crash to happen.

I done this multiple times before

Hoping that this might resolve the lagging and stuttering that I get in game

The lagging and stuttering only happens in SAFE ZONES, VILLAGE's and the worst in the CITY.

About 4 months ago, I uninstalled SCUM and did not play for 4 months... I Re-Installed SCUM about 2 weeks ago.

But I learned that when I go into the SAFE ZONE or enter a VILLAGE and the game starts to lag / stutter... I stop everything that I am doing and wait for about ± 2 Minutes... Then the game play is smooth again... Not in the CITY though, there the lagging / stuttering happens quite often as the building needs to render.

I am use to it now though!

Otherwise the game play is super smooth all through... until I get a "Rager" and build it up. Then I drive away for the world and fall through it and loose my truck and loot.

LOL

I love this game too much

How can I send it to thee?

I can't do it through SCUM SUPPORT because one of the developers blocked me and falsely accused me for spamming.

Would need the whole SCUM folder, not just parts of it. If you can zip the entire folder and send it in that would help. :)

What is going on with the game?

7 UE4 FATAL ERROR's in 1 day... Why?

The error you are getting means that your GPU is hanging, "D3D device being lost". Doing a quick search there is a few fixes that you could try, but I would first try reverting to the older GPU driver to check if the new driver caused something to happen.

Here are some of suggestions:
Update Graphics Drivers.
Disable and Re-enable Graphics Card.
Disable Anti-Aliasing.
Check for Conflicting Programs.
Check for System Updates.

From quick search explaining why D3D errors happen:
"D3D errors typically occur if you are running the game at settings which your machine does not adequately support or if you are running outdated video drivers. Other potential causes include outdated Windows installs or larger video card issues."
