Hey, after dev update 30 on monday 10.10.2022 i get fatal error while playing after 3-5 min.
I installed the Game und steam again but it didnt help. then i tried to reinstall my graphic driver but that didnt help too. my windwos and drivers are up to date. can anyone help? i even tried deleting save files too. nothing helps.
My PC: Core I7 6700K, 32 RAM 3000mhz, RX 580 4gb, Game installed on SSD.

Hi, I'm having this exact error after today update and can't fix it, my game crashes 1 min or so after I launch the game, even if I just stay on Main Menu doing nothing. I've been playing the game for 10 days or so without issues until I did the update today.
I tried updating NVIDIA drivers and Windows, tried deleting the game Save folder and then I uninstalled the game and reinstalled, the issue is always happening, after the game freezes and crash I get "FATAL ERROR: [File:Unknown] [Line: 198]. Unreal engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error:0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')"
My PC: Ryzen 5 3600x, 16GB RAM, GTX 1660 Super on M.2 SSD Drive

The line: "FATAL ERROR: [File:Unknown] [Line: 198]. Unreal engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. (Error:0x887A0006 - 'HUNG')" says that it's a most likely an issue with your DirectX or graphical driver, I would advise first to try and repair DirectX and if that doesn't help try to do complete GPU drivers reinstallation from scratch, please let us know if this worked for you.

Hi, thx for your answer. I already try reinstalling my GPU drivers, I did a Clean Install and after that SCUM is still crashing at 1 min or so after launching, same Error. Other games are running fine, no issues, just SCUM. For the DirectX part I don't know what to do other than downloading the DX web installer from Microsoft page, running this executable ends up saying that "No installation is necessary". If you can point me on what to do other than that I'll follow your advice

You can try uninstalling DirectX and then installing it again, you can also try to delete your local save files located in your local appdata. If that doesn't help either, please contact me on discord so we can check what we can do further to resolve this issue.

You can try uninstalling DirectX and then installing it again, you can also try to delete your local save files located in your local appdata. If that doesn't help either, please contact me on discord so we can check what we can do further to resolve this issue.

Tried with the dxwebsetup.exe file from Microsoft site, then with the directx_jun2010_redist.exe file which is suppose to repair any corrupted file, also did a "sfc /scannow" on cmdprompt which repaired some system files but the game still crashes after 1min on a 1st attempt, on a 2nd try it almost crashed like before at 1min or so, it freeze my PC completely with crashing sounds for about 10 seconds and it came back, but this happened like 2 more times on a 1 min interval and then it really crashed just like before, same Error. I have deleted my Save file on various occasions before launching the game just to give it a try but it haven't made any difference.

I failed to tell you before that Im running Windows 10, if that helps, and is up to date.

Okay, so the solution for this is to launch the game in DX12, at least for Dibram here, so OP please try out launching the game in DX12 and check if that will resolve your issue.

Hi, I am also having the same fatal error crash when starting the game. I have not successfully opened the game yet since the Halloween update. Is there something else I should try? I have tried all of the steps above and still nothing.

Please share your system specifications aswell as your error code you receive. You can find the logs in : C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\SCUM\Saved\Logs
