Game's not launching, stuck on black screen.

Both the regular and experimental version are refusing to even launch. I get a black screen when I launch the game from Steam, and it just remains black until I eventually close it through Task Manager.

My game's updated my files have been verified, I've deleted the old savegames and EAC is loading properly. anything else I could do aside from a reinstall?

I have the same problem. What someone suggested doing and I finally did it. Wait it out. Let it stay on black and after a while (feels like 100 years, trust me! lol) it will go to main screen then wait that out. Then you get the choose play type page (home page?) and once you choose what you're playing it goes right into create page. It WILL take a while to load your char (not as long as original game load) but soon he or she will pop up and you can have the glorious fun of dying! :D It will still do the slow load torture process when you log out but sometimes it seems to get a bit (not much) faster loading. What I have learned to do is give myself a task to do so time goes by faster. It sucks but it IS worth it. Good luck.

I could give it a try, but I've had it on the black screen for like 5-6 minutes without results in one of todays attempts, as I did walk off to go do something else. Either way it really needs a fix because this just isn't right..

Im trying to connect to the game but it´s not working. I can hear things in the game but the game keep me in the warning scream than after 1 minute, the game drop me to start menu

Anyone have any luck? Having the exact same issue and program says not responding.

I've simply given up on SCUM for now.
I'll come back after the next major update, and if it's still not fixed by then, I'll simply uninstall until like a year or so later. Luckily there's plenty of games to play that DO work.
