Audio issues, wireless headphones
I use Corsair HS70 headphones. Since the beginning I have had issues with the audio. There is a background sound "shshshshshshshshshshshshshs" that I assume is the wind since sometimes it is absent and other times it will be there and it varies "shshshshshshSHSHSHSHSshshshs". The problem is that sometimes that part of the audio steps up a lot in volume "shshshshWOOOOOOOOOSHshshshshsh". What I have noticed is that when it gets loud, some other in-game sound will stop it, and it goes back to normal level. It's really noticeable up on the mountain in the snow. It will start to WOOOOSH, I take a step in the snow, and the sound level drops before the crunch sound. A few seconds later it will come back. Bird tweets also stop it. UI sounds seem to have no effect. The sound of opening the inventory doesn't stop it.

The Corsair software is up to date. I do use the Surround feature but switching to stereo doesn't help.

I do have a crappy wired headset and I don't notice the problem. I don't want to switch to wired headphones though. I really hate cords.

I don't notice this in any other games I play, but I don't play a wide variety.

Is this a SCUM issue? UE4? Anything I can try on my end?

Hey there seven.
Can't help you at the moment, but I will forward this to our sound tech.

Just bumping this to say if there is any other information I can provide let me know. I've changed my play style to one of strict survival, avoiding combat as much as possible. To hear other players better I turn up the sound and this gets really annoying after a while.

Do you use Corsair's iCue software? If so, have you tried turning it off for testing purposes? Are there any other output devices available in Windows Audio Settings?

Edit: Does that happen in other applications, watching YouTube, etc.?

It is likely tied to the iCue software. If I quit that the sound problem does not occur. It may also be because then the sound is very basic, all the extras like surround sound are only through the iCue software. In windows' sound panel the only device setting that can be changed is volume.

Not using iCue is not an option, it also controls my liquid cooler.

I haven't noticed any problems in other games or apps, but it's not just any sound. It only happens with the background "wind" sound. It's like the wind track suddenly steps up in volume. When some other sounds play, like bird tweets or footsteps, the wind volume goes back to normal. Other sounds like the UI or lightning crashes don't affect it.

There's actually a lot of posts like that in the Corsair forums. One workaround I've read about is to start a long YouTube video in the background, set its volume to zero and leave it running while playing. Strange but interesting.
Other solutions include reinstalling the hs's firmware and getting a new one by warranty.

I tried a youtube video, an 8 hour rain video so the hiss was rather similar, but that didn't help. It already had latest firmware but forced it to overwrite, a couple times for good measure, and that didn't help either.

Hey guys!

I have the same issue by using of my "Corsair Virtuoso SE". If i disable the ICUE-Software, the sound is working fine. But i want to be able using the equalizer...

Is it an Issue of SCUM or of ICUE or both together?
P.S.: Workaround with Youtube Video doesn't work!

I haven't found a solution. It is better now, but still there.
