Nothing better than searching all night for something, finding it, and then you're unable to loot it.

It's a known issue since the last patch and it is worked on.

For now you can drag the loot out of the container to the floor and pick it from there. Moving it directly from the container to your inventory wont work in many cases (in some it does, though).

Dragging stuff out of the containers or inventory to the floor is not working for many people and only on certain servers iirc.
For myself and some streamers I watched, It doesn't seem to be working at all in solo. For some streamers it is but they're on a server I think.

It depends on how it is pulled to the ground. Dragging directly onto the ground will not work, but dragging it next to the item into the gray box will automatically place the item on the ground. This worked for me equally in SP and MP.

Pulling directly onto the ground only works for a few objects.

Yes, drag the items a little lower on the vicinity bar will actually take it out of the searchable container. Dragging it to the ground won't work. Drag everything a little lower then you can double click them to inventory.

My game partner is, or probably already has sent a detailed email about it and has been communication with someone in Discord. I think she's sending some video as well as some of the CPU process notes I've been taking (tho I'm more focused on UE stuff atm so i don't think that will help at all if she sent it or if it was requested)

I believe we demonstrated with a thread, some matches and a pickle. Idk what else she might have recorded.

Yeah, that little "mini bar"? That's how I drag to the ground already since I had issues placing stuff before, I found if drop it there first, that made it much easier to place things right where I want. Right now most everything for me is frozen in place and I've only successfully removed certain items from my own inventory, but then it gets 'locked' and won't go back nor can be moved to a different position or container.

I also started a fresh character (on friday) and was able to get started well enough. He wasn't able to directly pick up the stone knife, but he did use it to craft the spear and bow and quickie bag. He kept the knife and i was able to move around the sticks and didn't run into any more problems until he went into town, and (see bug reports). I don't remember if this was pre-hot fix or not but i think it was after.

I wasn't expecting the next hotfix till monday or tuesday hopefully, but i might try again later tonight if i have time.

Hey there OP, there is currently bug regarding looting, to avoid it you can drop it in vicinity and then pick it up, this will be addressed in the next hotfix.
