Thank you, this is helpful 😊
Finding weapons is not the only source of armament. Craft primitive weapons from nature's materials such as bows, spears, axes and arrows to compete against puppets. Daring people can also knock out a puppet using boxes.
When fighting, make sure that your stamina is not low. If it is low from the start of the fight, your chances are worse and it will take you significantly longer.
The simple #20 bow can help you the most at the beginning of your travels. This and its arrows are very easy to make and, above all, the ammunition can be found everywhere. (In the form of bushes that you just have to cut down). A simple stone knife can also be an initial aid. Simply search through the small piles of stones in the landscape to make a simple knife out of 2 small stones and thus have the basis for working with simple materials.
Great advice, thanks hugely!
I go the improvised bow and spear with improvised back pack route but yeah good post!
that said many others posted resources for guides and information on how to prep. this game is as much about preparing as it is about being prepared. don't balk at the crafted and improvised stuff early game. with the right builds and skills and kits the game is easy enough but the struggle is what makes it fun IMO. granted if that's not your thing there are private servers that offer spawn kits and what not if you just want to get to the action.
On our test server we did just that we pulled our bcu's out till we hit perma death it worked for all of us who tried.
Im on the official europe server, does that have it too? I guess I'll find out soon enough... 😂
If you are spotted without weapons and if it's just a single puppet, try to fight back, all tho it will take some time you can still kill them by just your fists.
If you choose to run, try going through the bushes to lose the puppets.
I would highly suggest crafting at least stone axe once you land on the island just to give you better defense if attacked.
Thanks for the tip! I somehow managed to escape the countryside and not die from hypothermia during the cold night and entered a city with like a gym hall that seemed it was used by the military as a make do barracks. I ran around and repeated a loop of loot the crates and whatnot from the place, and sodas, then out in the city and loot shops and houses, with assorted food items, then back to the gymhall/barracks to loot the crates again. Also cut up a bush and made a backpack from the sticks and the cloth and homemade rope from the puppet clothes. The laughing exploding loonies was friggin scary man, I screamed here in my apartment in the middle of the night when one of those dudes suddenly exploded for the first time right outside the gymhall; jesus what a shock lmao! My poor neighbors must think Im crazy. But I have got some good loot here, different clothing items, some military pants with a lot of room, inventory space is super critical, but now I got both the make do backpack and the pants. The puppets are easy enough to escape when running from them, but gotta get to a safe spot before running out of stamina if multiple of them is chasing, or else it's probably bye-bye time for me. Luckily I don't think they know how to operate doors? I did close the door in the face of some of them and that seemed to keep them out, so I camped inside the shop there for a while.
Also I gotta say I love the look of the towns, it's creepy as hell when it gets dark and there's fog with the street lights partially illuminating things in that gloomy way. That honestly gave me a silent hill feeling, if you can remember the early games in that abandoned city and the fog.
They have quite useful loot, like weapons and gear (backpacks and clothes).
Just be careful on multiplayer. I'm sure these are spots are visited by a lot of players.
