Gaining Fame isn't always easy, but the merchants, even if they don't sell you anything yet, can still help you. Sell items to the dealers to get some fame here and increase your notoriety.
Above all, however, rare goods are ideal for this because they naturally weigh more than a butter knife. So make sure you sell valuable things that you don't need to the dealers. With this you not only earn fame but also money.
Two hours looting, killing puppets and crafting brought me up to 22 fame...
Not that I'd care too much, I'm usually avoiding the traders anyway, but entertaining the audience (aka getting in touch with and killing the locals) should give more fp imho. At least as much as picking an olive, namely 1 full point, better 2.
This is probably what I'm going to do either way.
As agitating as it is, this is also my chief complaint with this. Is scum supposed to be a fishing show now? I fell down a giant hatch and completely demolished my leg, but somehow managed to live and creep out of the facility after cutting my way through a horde of the undead. But I got more fame from making an ax and picking insects out of wood-
It's better than looting city, town, village or compound.
Fast forward and people now complain they can’t spawn in and immediately buy stuff at the trader. The game before traders is a distant memory.
The trader is a perk and gaining fame should not be as simple as searching for olives.
Don't worry, after a couple of week of complains we will go back to the same situation before the patch with 2k FP and hundreds of thousands of SCUM $
If you think about the last year, most of the tweakes were about balancing traders. And more will come.
Traders are a "instable" element of the game, if we talk about balancing it.
I tried this yesterday; sold guns, ammo, armor, clothing, and meds in five trips. Got money, zero fame.
After another run to the same trader worth another 8k all I can buy is food and clothing. Not even 9mm ammo...
