SCUM
CONSTRUCTION LIMIT
I would like to discuss the limit of construction elements, which looks very strange and not logical.
The developers promised us MORE freedom with modular construction. And in fact nothing has changed, but a limit on the number of elements under the flag has been added.
Have we been deceived?

Perhaps this limit is suitable for PvP servers.
But this is very bad for PvE. I like building in the game and I want to enjoy it, not suffer from it.
We built a base with the squad, we got 365 elements out of 400.

But this is not the whole base and not all cabinets for things are installed. When we are close to completing the base, we will have absolutely no room for decoration.
It seems to me that for PvE servers, the limits should be increased or removed.
I also don't like that bonfires, torches, plaques and stuffed animals fall under the base element.

I really ask the developers to reconsider the limits for official PvE servers.

I believe they're working on a solution to that. A new trader at the outposts selling BB expansion permits or something like that is in the works. That's IIRC.

Hello there OP! Thank you for taking the time to write this.
There is a reason for the base building limit. First and foremost, imagine a lot of bases with a huge number of bb elements and how it impacts server performance. With the old bb system, we saw impossible bases with hundreds of barbed wires and cabinets that just killed server performance and made the squad untouchable.
I understand what you're saying about PVE but still I feel 400 elements is enough to make a great base, some compromise is needed to keep server performance acceptable.

Everything was fine with the old bb system.
We also built cool bases and did not feel any problems with the server. The game worked perfectly.
And no matter what you think, you can't build a standard lamp house on 400 elements.

It is very easy to build a rectangular box that we have been building on the old system for a very long time.
But why would I build something simple when the new system allows me to build cool things? But they are impossible because of the limitation.

I want to build a beautiful house, with a garage, with a pier, with benches and torches to illuminate the territory. To have fences and stuff.
This all turns out to be at least 400 elements. Because a lot of small elements are used in construction.
I need at least 20 cupboards in my house. And this is already 20 elements under the flag, 10 more torches on the territory, and this is already 30.
The limits need to be revised precisely.

In single player you can edit the serversettings.ini file to increase the amount of elements you can craft under a flag as for online servers you would need to ask the admin to increase the limit

I'm writing about official servers. I don't consider private servers.

As it was stated by Darius already, due to server performance BB elements were limited.

The server admin can adjust the bb limits as well based on per squad member and the original amount for the leader. May want to contact the admin of your server to do that.

I can set a flag, build a house there for the entire limit, then I can remove the flag and go put it in another place and build a house there for the entire limit. And this way I can just build up the entire server with a large number of objects. Yes, all these elements will not be under the flag, but they will be built and any loner will be able to grab a ready-made house for himself.
Hence, the restriction of elements looks silly.
As I wrote, the limits on the PvE server need to be expanded or removed altogether.

How did you get a total of a 400 element limit?

We only have an 200 element limit on our flag.

The more players in the squad, the more elements.

:::::::::
Yes you can but those elements will not be in the flag repair area and so each piece will need it's own repair quite time consuming!
I guess the bigger reason would be why would you do that!

The reason is not why I would do that.
I'm talking about the fact that the limit on elements destroys itself, because it was made so that players would not build too large bases and to make "optimization" on the server.
And at the same time, this limitation can be easily circumvented. And this limit doesn't make sense.

The devs want full servers, 60-100 seems reasonable, but they can only have that happen at the expense of other elements being removed in order to keep the game playable. Too many resources in game(puppets, players, buildings etc.) and the current technology can't keep up. If you want freedom to build big go SP, I don't think the vision of the devs is to have a building simulator. It's a prison TV show (think Hunger Games), not alot of building would take place in this kind of setting.

It becomes too demanding on the current tech. There can be only a certain number of elements per sector/area before it begins to become unplayable. SP is a different thing than MP due to the limits of bandwidth/ping.
