As already mentioned, the power plant and its surroundings can be found in the C0 sector. But caution applies to the entire sector. The trees are a good indicator of the onset of dangerous radioactive radiation that requires caution.
If you are planning a longer stay in the contaminated zone, you should definitely prepare well. Radiation protection suit, Geiger counter and equipment, which you can do without in case of doubt because a rescue here can be very difficult.
In principle, the entire sector is dangerous, the outer regions less so. The radioactivity is active and damages the unprotected body. Running around naked in this section is not recommended at all.
Surrounding sectors are not affected by it and the Radiated zone is only in C0. However, you can take Radiated items out of the zone, they will degrade in Radiation levels over time (or you remove the radiation by using soap and water to clean the items) but technically you can bring radiated material in other zones. This will not contaminate the zone the items are brought in.

Yes, only C0 Sector is affected from radiation. You will be safe in the other Sectors. Contaminated items can be cleaned with a bar of soap or over time. (Radiation will decrease over time as long as it is not inside of the Radiation Zone.) You can check if a item is radiated by using a Geiger counter. Take the device in your hands, activate it and you will see if items are radiated.
The threes will look dead and damaged, this way you can see clearly when the Dangerous Radiation starts. But you need to keep in mind, the Sector is dangerous and even within the Green areas inside of C0 there can be radiation. For this to find out you need a Geiger counter.
the gas mask only helps you to a certain extent, unfortunately it is not a shield against radioactivity. this is especially noticeable around the reactor and will inevitably lead to death if you wear a gas mask alone. The Geiger counter is a tool. It's not a must, but as long as you're only wearing a gas mask, it becomes a must so you know where the dangerous radiation zones begin.
Avoid long stays in the contaminated area if you only have a gas mask at hand. if you have one of the two available radiation protection suits, radiation is less of a problem and a geiger counter is optional.
A Geiger counter is used to measure the radiation presence, gas mask won't help you enter the radiation zones, and you will need a hazmat suit to protect your body from radiation. Otherwise, you will get radiation sickness, and if not treater you will die from it.
