REASONS YOU CANT BUY A ENGINE, PLAYER SETTING AND SERVER SETTING

THIS IS WHAT WE ARE MISSING ON THE PLAYER SIDE OF BUYING A ENGINE AND WHY A SELECT FEW CAN DO IT. I HOPE THIS HELPS THE PLAYER AND THE DEVS BECAUSE I KNOW ITS BEEN FRUSTRATING ON BOTH SIDE

So let me get this straight. Everyone been asking 'why cant I buy an engine for a car' and we get nothing back except for parroting quotes from the patch notes about how only so many cars can have engines depending on how the server is set. And you wont know IF you can actually buy one until you've wasted 2 hours of your life pushing a car from one side of the map to the other, only to be denied an engine.

And now you are telling me that you have to take all that into account AND your engineer skill and survival skill needs to be level medium for both?

That is the missing link that no ones been told, about the skills levels required to buy the engine in the first place. Awesome find.

yes as far as my testing went a level medium skill is required for both

I have found that you need engineering at medium and driving at basic to buy an engine. I kn ow it works because I did it and I did not even have basic survival.

Hello there, so here is a video of me installing an engine with 0 survival skill and 0 driving skill. Engineering is at medium, everything else doesn't really matter. Why you can't buy an engine is probably because people don't remove the alternator or the battery first or it is either not in stock or all engine slots are taken on the server.

alright thank you very much for clearing that up iv had the same server setting since the update but only after getting my survival up to medium could i buy one. but thank you for a skill level confirming

i had basic driving skill and advanced engineering and basic survival, but couldn't buy one. but oh well idk was just trying to help

iv checked all this stuff iv destroyed random spawn cars with engines, iv upped functional cars, trader has unlimited stock, and you cant remove a alternator or battery in a car with no engine it has no place to sit till you buy the engine.

There could still be a bug there though, but it definitely has nothing to do with the skills. Could you please specify your VW settings in the serversettings.ini?
These lines:
VW max
VW max functional
VW min purchased

So we could look if there is indeed a bug going on here.
