And it works damn good. Well with a couple of problems ;-)
+ looks amazing, all 3d like being there. Especially first person view is so immersive!
+ performance rocks! I set all on ultra, in native resolution of my VR hmd (valve index) im getting 120 FPS! So was no problem to upscale with factor 1.7 or something, now rendering with 3,7k per eye and still ~75 fps on DLSS quality preset. Enabled motion smoothing with fixed rate of 60, absolutely smooth experience.
- biggest minus: map is not working :-( it pops up but somewhere in the sky so I don't really see it.
- mouse cursor is invisible. However I was able to enable alternative mouse curser in UEVR menu. This works as a workaround, its position is correct.
- action popup (press F button for opening doors, search, cut etc...) is invisible when looking at activators. But when holding E an action popup appears, but behind the character when in first person view. Fortunelly I was able to adjust gui little more to the front in UEVR menu so I could also see it in first person view. Good enough as a workaround, I know what I can interact with so no big deal.
- there are some minor graphical glitches. Like lens flares are rendered twice this looks really weird. Unfortunally I cannot disable lens flares in game menu completely, only set them Low, then they are almost invisible. Clouds are a little bit brighter in the right eye, but not much, a little bit confusing but I got used to it quickly.
- minor minus, had to tweak camera position a little bit using UEVR menu. By default the camera viewpoint is a bit too low at the height of the stomach. But with UEVR the camera can be adjusted. I have tweaked it to be about right where the head is.
will keep testing it, I started new game so didn't see weapons yet.
I was able to fix most of the problems by changing some UEVR settings.
Map is now working!
And the activaters (press F button) are now visible.
And the glitches with the sky are gone.
For that I needed to enable AHUD (?) compability mode .
But the greatest news - I was able to double the performance!
I switched rendering mode from native stereo to synchronized sequenced.
I guess it has enabled DLSS frame generation. FPS gone from 60 to 120. And thats all epic and rendering with upscaling factor 2.0. However this also disabled motion smoothing. But I don't care really, with 120 fps stable I don't need smoothing :-)
Actually I have never seen another game perform so good in VR in full 3d with this resolution!
The only problems that persists is the missing mouse cursor (but no problem UEVR can render its own cursor and is working),
And the displaced aim point. I guess its because I moved the camera a little bit up, the aim point is a bit off and it makes aiming with the bow a bit difficult.
This game works even better in VR than Satisfactory! I can only recommend.
There is a problem with aiming weapons. Its very difficult to aim through the gunsight. its off. I try to reach the UEVR autors on discord and see if they can help with this.
(but i won't try it with scum. Not enough immersive)
any unreal game works. I tried satisfactory - beatiful, but performance is better in scum. I heard ace combat 7, robocop, stray, are jaw dropping too. But I don't have these myself.
I have distortion at close objects (arms, tools) in satistfactory too, but it doesn't hurt in that game as you must not aim through gunsight. I assume that is because fov of my hmd (valve index) is higher than 90° (115°). With quest 2 / 3 I gues it should be matching.
...EAC can't block cheaters but can block good graphic tools...
Single Player mode is cool but not too long.
I don't play pvp games too. I always play PvE. But the servers only have default settings, and i hate them. They're meant to be played in group only. So i play SP with my own settings (more realistic). Exemple : i hate the fact that we can only drive 2 hours full tank costing $1000... So i made it x5 and price /2
