I used to make bows and arrows as a kid with sharpened bamboo and at short range they flew fine, and would easily puncture water bottles or mellons etc.
Feathers could add range in-game. Stone and metal tip already adds to damage.
then you'll want a heavier draw.
@Devs - while talking about arrows and fletching; lets quickly mention that crossbow bolts were fletched with wood -not feathers.
You mean irl I guess. the issue in this game is, no feather wood flys straight every time. that is realistic at short range but over distance its not. When I mention range and bouncing off a target at range is meaning the arrow has lost its initial straight trajectory and is no longer flying straight enough to penetrate. That would be the easiest way to alter different types of arrows effectiveness, one variable, range. I currently can get one hit headshot kills with a no feather wooden arrow and crafted bow from very far away. they ALWAYS fly straight, you just have to adjust for drop.
P.s. bow: self made block bow 61 lbs.
