Prefab basing
Im new to the dame and was wondering if its a good idea to base in pre-fab buildings, the ones that have loot spawning.

Hello :),

Temporarily, if you are just starting out, it is not such a bad idea, although it is not a good long-term solution.

The advantages are quick availability and minimal maintenance costs.

The disadvantage is that you cannot build any BB elements in the prefab buildings except for boxes and the improvised bed, and you also lack advanced defensive elements.

Also remember that without building a flag there are more limitations. If you play with PvP elements, for example, when you are tracking down your base, mines can be laid to exclude you.

The prefabs are therefore particularly suitable for short-term solutions, for example if you want to set up a small camp if you want to loot/explore/stay in an area for a longer period of time. As a long-term solution, you should definitely consider building your own building that you can build away from the action. Puppet spawns can also be dangerous. You can only suppress these using a flag, but all loot containers within the flag range will then not respawn.

Building in a HTZ zone, i.e. in military POIs, is definitely not recommended, this also applies to police stations directly, as these belong to the HTZ. (HTZ = High Threat Zone)
Villages and towns usually have an MTZ (Medium Threat Zone) and even here it can be uncomfortable to occupy a PRefab. In rural areas you are in LTZ (Low Threat Zone), here base building is much more recommended than in MTZ or HTZ.

Sometimes I do at one of those little isolated barn areas, it's like your very own land, plus they get more animals spawning from my experience which you wont find in the wild with your own building, and usually the interior looks better than what we can currently build in our own, but you are limited with what you can put in. Can't say much on PvP though. Also not sure if it is a bug or something, but some houses even with a flag down, if I log out in the house and later log in sometimes I am met with a puppet, so heads up.
In order for there to be no puppet spawn in a house you must do 2 things.

1. All doors must be locked for that house.

2. All windows must be fortified.

Puppets can still wander in through the walls in a roam state.
Roam= puppet has spawned due to your presence however it is as of yet not agro to you.
Agro= puppet sees you and wants to attack you.

In a agro state the puppet is supposed to be held back by walls and other physical objects but atm is not working very well in game.

If you want a safe place to log out find a 1 story house or building. Open a door outward. Center your character on the outer edge of the door and climb up on top of the door, then onto the roof and close the door behind you.
A lot of players do not know you can get onto roofs by climbing the doors like you do a wall.

Puppets most of the time cannot get on that roof however if things are nearby they might be able to jump up there from those or jump out a second story window of a adjacent building!
