Yep just as it real life counterpart it has only one firing mode, the fun one.

LMG's are made for suppression and mass slaughter, not sniping.

The SAW or M249 was developed with only two selector options, Safe and Auto. You can find Semi only civilian variants out there but the devs most likely designed this one around the military application. If it is a large magazine count you want and the ability to use it more like a marksmen rifle, I would say the RPK with a 75rd drum would be amazing. Perhaps at some point in the game we will get Beta mags for the 5.56 weapons. It would also be amazing if the OKP would go onto the MP5 series rails and the RDS optics fit onto the rails and shotguns as well. If you are going to try and replicate IRL into a game, then these things should also be true in SCUM with the attachments. But sorry, no single fire proficiency here. lol. Try and practice super short taps on your mouse. Enjoy

The newer Para-Saw version actuelly does have a selector for single, Safe, Single,Auto.
My only thing is the sound....it sounds the same as the RPK.....Send XKICKX and Deathwhisper out to the range and get them to bring back tom SAW SOund Effects recordings for the sound guys.

Like newer than when I was deployed and our unit had these in early 2000's? I am no expert and I will be the first to admit I'm no Forgotten Weapons expert like Ian, but I have never seen a select fire SAW that was issued. Perhaps it is a SOCOM sort of thing. Now I definitely agree with the sound effects.. they just don't sit right with me.
