Hi, is there a specific spot where these spawn at a higher rate? I find orinary toolkits, lots of them and way more vehicle and tire repair kits than I could ever use, but not a single electrician toolbox or even the smaller version.

Are there specific pot that drop these? I heard you only get, for example TNT from the trainyard so, just wondering. Having to buy these Boxes gets really expensive...

Hello :),

My last locations were, for example, at the scrap yard or the factory in the B1 sector, east of the airport. So in general you should look for facilities that have an industrial touch because the chances here (from personal experience) have been significantly better so far. Car workshops, for example, only very rarely have these.

There are also good opportunities in warehouses, for example in Samobor, where a look through can be worthwhile.

anyone know why only the small toolbox can be used to make a battery charger, i tried it with the big box and it wouldn`t have it, since both do the same job surely they should both be allowed for making battery chargers.

I have noticed that these are somewhat rare. You would think you'd find the electrician tool boxes in workshops (prefabs that have the tool benches in them should have them, regardless if they're near the junk yard or other... my suggestion is that the wrecked vans should have them added to their loot table) because they're usually where tradies store their supplies if they haven't loaded their gear in their trucks/vans.

I've noticed that threads are also quite rare drops now. On my SP test character, I set the item spawn rate to 5.0 -even then, not much luck in the usual places they used to spawn. I haven't even had a puppet drop any

I use the millions of fishing lines to make sewing kits, actual thread is quite rare indeed...

But I never ever saw an electrician box or electrician tools anywhere besides airdrops.

So its like fish - easier to simply buy the stuff...

In factory areas. Workshop areas. Rare stuff. I only found 4 since 0.85. Buy isnt cheap either. Maybe we get an improvised one later on, (car cables, brake oil, wires, wire cutters, batteries) there is plenty of stuff to implemente an improvised one like the ordinary toolbox.

It's designed in that way. When traders were added loot was vastly reduced.
My experience confirm me that is a dev choice. With this level of low loot when you need something is frustrating trying to drop it by going around the map.
Much easier to go to outpost.

It's the same of the medicine quality degradation. You can't stockpile them as they will be useless when you need it most.

And JTK I'm one of those players that don't like the actual trader implementation.

I got one from a supply drop so far, nowhere else and my loot is at 2x.

Same for me - SP with 3x - never found an electrician's toolkit since the loot rework aside from the small kit in the supply drop lockers. Tried everywhere that seemed to make sense - hydro-electric dam, train yard, moto-X track, junk yard, many misc garages, workshops, & warehouses.

it was brand new brought from a trader just for making a medium size battery charger, i even tried making it outside the shop, the option to use a big box doesn`t show up only the small toolbox shows, my engineering was on medium.

Please watch out when building this thing! I originally started this question, because I used my small one for a medium charger, that was so busted that I could not repair it above 50% - meaning no car battery would fit into it, rendering it completly useless to me, all materials wasted, especially the electtrician tools...

Oddly enough, I found a big box in a bunker in A0 in a rather normal looking box covered with cloth, they are all around these bunkers. Usually I ignore them cause I am after the armory or meds - seems they can actually drop something really good, too. Was my main prize for that run.

buddy plays like 6 days a week 4-6 hours a day he found 1 sense the update, he does bunkers, garages, work shops etc he knows where to look just the spawn rate is insane, it really kinda ruined all the new crafts unless you take a knee and use the traders, that have no lore or anything, I mean i'd just get a few friends and raid and kill them all
