Zooming the map

Is there a reason why the map cant be zoomed in and out? was a doubt I had in mind since the first time I played SCUM.
It would be a big qol and a nice thing in general to be able to zoom in and out the map, with maybe more details showing when zooming in, to have a better view of the buildings of a city or just seeing the folliage more precisely and with better quality to determinate where would be a good place to create a base in the middle of a forest for example to name a few things.

Nah, doubt they ever will, either, since they are going to make you have to hunt for little pieces of paper maps in the game, eventually. But for now, just go to this site:

open a map up, copy it to your harddrive, then use any non-sucky image editing program to zoom into it. You can't zoom way in without it all getting blurry, but just zooming in once will give you a much clearer view of where and what everything is. Frankly, if i had to give the map system in SCUM a rating of 1-10 for quality and useability, it would barely scrape a 2. And that's on one of my generous days.

it's for single player or admin only

Map zooming is not planned for implementation for now. Since ( as mentioned above ) the map itself will be found all around the island and assembled from multiple pieces (at least on the official servers ).

Please make it possible then. irl, you have detailed villages, city maps, where you can see each house and streets in the areas. This would be very helpful in some situations.

it is just a part of the game to find the map and then you will have map that you can zoom in..
