Advanced running or endurance?
Which is better to start with and why?

I never really knew.

It seemed running never made that much of a difference between basic medium or advanced.

I go medium running and medium endurance. I figured it was the safest route.

Endurance effects food and water consumption.

I don’t know if anything’s changed since I last looked at it but I prefer Endurance over Running.

Running affects your speed and acceleration
Endurance increases your stamina points, stamina recovery rate, and decreases water & calory rates while running.

Both skills level up when running.
So my thinking was/is; if endurance increases the amount of time I can run for and reduces my down time I can level up both Running and Endurance faster while getting the other benefits of Endurance, if I put more points into Endurance.

Hello :),

I would also prefer endurance. When I chose running I wasn't very happy with the end result because although I was relatively fast (without much equipment) I quickly got tired.

At the moment I'm using the balanced variant where I start with both parameters at the same level and have made really good progress so far :). (CON 4 = 2.5 per skill So: Medium 50% for running and endurance)

Definitely endurance. It's useful for more than just running around and if/when you get a vehicle (especially a bicycle) running speed becomes even less important than stamina recovery.

Endurance increases stamina, which means you can run for longer, while running increases the speed at which you run. Would definitely put more points in endurance.

I'd say endurance. From what I read in the description it helps you with the energy and water consumption rates, so it's not just about stamina but it helps on other survival aspects too.
Constitution helps with energy and water consumption, so endurance should help you even more.

So I have a different theory. I put more into running since during your game play you'll be carrying around loot and be organically leveling up endurance faster than running especially when you start using vehicles. For a quick play through on a new character put more into endurance. For a character you plan to build for the long haul put more into running.

Also, never max out a skill when creating a character for the long haul. Always leave a click or two from achieving the next level so to save points for elsewhere. This way after a short play period you should be able to achieve those next levels. This allows you to put points into areas which are much harder to grind and don't more so organically level up as you play.

Advanced running is pointless if you have low strength. Your top running speed decreases as you add weight to your character, and nobody really runs around naked. Once you add a vest and gun, plus other general items you are carrying a lot of weight.
One of the stats nobody seems to pay attention to anymore, especially streamers when they are explaining skills like stealth, is gear weight, the max load you can carry, and the side effects of what happens to your skills once you exceed this.
A character with good strength and medium running can easily outrun a weaker guy with advanced running if they are carrying the same load.

The only skill I like to set at advanced when creating a new toon is medical.

There have been many times that quick patch with few bandages has saved my butt and medical is so slow to level.

Just my style.

i too favour endurance over running especially with how the game is now, sound doesn`t trigger the hordes like it used to trigger puppets, and since the lighter smaller puppets can outrun you anyway running just isn`t as useful, but what i would like to mention is that when they get round to reworking the skills, there are some that should start at basic and the player can`t add skill points but instead has to work to improve those skills in game, skills like running, boxing, awareness, camo and stealth are skills that players should be able to add points to but instead all players begin at basic and have to work to improve them in game, that way players can focus more on how they want their character to be in game, and use those skill points to set up skills that would be hard to work in game, for example medical is differcult to raise in game, if your good enough to not take much damage but you want to max that skill out you either have to take hits in game or use those skill points, which may mean not losing out on other skills early on when they really matter the most.

I'm not sure that's accurate, as I understand it:

Endurance is for Stamina Regen and Food/Water Consumption.
Running has a double effect in that it increases Run/Jog Speed and reduces Stamina Consumption while running/jogging.
The attribute governing Running and Endurance (CON) increases your max Stamina (max health also) and more food/water consumption.

So the Running path means you get more distance in less time at lower stamina cost, but use food/water faster and have to rest an extra few seconds between bursts.

The Endurance path gives lower food/water consumption and faster stamina regen when not moving but your stamina bar depletes a little faster and you miss out on that (albeit small) speed increase.

That is why I went medium medium and let them do their thing lol!

Less confusion on this old brain!
