SCUM

NVidia shadowplay
Anyone else here who is using NVidia shadow play finding that it just refuses to work with SCUM now? It used to work just fine and has done for many years. Over the last few months it hardly ever works for me now... so i can't record game play / make clips... which is very frustrating when you die as i use SP a lot to see how i died or what stupid mistakes i made etc etc.

Shadowplay turns itself off after about 30 seconds inside SCUM. This is the ONLY game that SP refuses to work in. 95% of the time it will just turn itself off after 20 sec or so. On very rare occasions it will work just fine. But most of the time SP just turns off almost instantly.

No amount of following suggestions on the internet works (manually turning it off and on again, turning on privacy control, going into GeForce experience and manually stopping and restarting the overlay). I have even tried completely uninstalling SP and all related NVidia drivers.

I was hoping this was just an NVidia driver issue and that it would be fixed in updates from NVidia, but it's now been months and there has been many NVidia driver and GeForce experience updates but the problem still persists!

Nothing works... anyone else having this issue?

It's not only for SCUM. I sent feedback to them because if you're recording while in game and as soon as you tab out - it stops recording. Unless you have desktop recording enabled - but that's useless because it will not (obviously) record your game in the background. This only started happening to me with the most recent Nvidia driver update.

Yeah this started happening for me about 3 months ago...roughly...maybe a little less to be fair.

For me it appears to only be SCUM that this happens and i don't even get the ability to start recording, it just instantly turns off. I am also not tasking out at all.

I will also try the new NVidia update, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Still the same issue, so I used the feedback thingy on GeForce experience to let them know it's still happening :( If you already haven't, please do also send them feedback. The more people who send it in the sooner (maybe) they'll fix it IF in fact this is something on their end (which it probably is)

Yeah i have also just sent feedback regarding recording.

I assume this is you Meanstreak from Raykit/Fozzy Scum server yeah?
I have the same issue with stuttering and freezing for a split second every few seconds with ShadowPlay on. I've only tried to fix it through nVidia drivers and be reinstalling the whole game and deleting my user files (when I thought it was an issue with the game's integrity). ShadowPlay used to work fine up until around the middle of June 2024. Since then it always stutters with it on and I'm forced to turn it off.

Cool, thought so and hello.

Believe it or not this update seems to have fixed it for me.

I've also deliberately done lots of tasking in and out whilst playing SCUM (as well as other games) and having SP running and it's not turned itself off when i first run SCUM or when i task out.

It has been broken for me for many months so i won't believe it is 100% fixed just yet but all indications look good.

Nah, back to turning itself off again.

yeah...frustrating.

Personally also had some issues with Shadowplay, which unusually occur just before they drop a new driver update. However, after the new drivers are applied, everything starts working fine again.

Yeah, NVidia seem a bit rubbish at addressing this issue. I wasn't sure if it was SCUM or NVidia. I wish they'd fix it... it's been broken for months for me and apparently lots of other people too. Frustrating.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
