SCUM
Watch to tell time.
Been playing this game for years, love everything about it and yet somehow I found something to complain about silly me..

I was excited to try out the Halloween spooky house cause I've never done it before and figured I might as well try it with my wife.

Take this post with a grain of salt and comedic relief because I mean no harm when I say this, but finding out that the only way to tell what time is in the game for the spooky house ritual during midnight **in-game** is by looking at a watch that is literally locked behind a paid pack made feel an ick. I was like, OF COURSE They would do this, REALLY? literally just found out about this pack thing and meh...

PS: I know I can wait for the time to pass, it's not a big deal again, just made me go Meh**

Since this feature doesn't give players any unfair advantages, we considered it to be just a QoL feature for further immersion. While I do see how this made you feel an ick, I do want to clarify that there is no connection between the ritual and the watch being locked behind a paid pack.
When it came to telling the time, the vision was for players to tell the time by comparing the shadows' positions to the cardinal directions.
That being said, we do recognise that we might have to find a way to make telling the exact time accessible to all players down the line.
In vanilla settings, Nightfall hits at 10:00 pm and it takes 30 minutes in real time to reach midnight, that should be enough time to reach the haunted house and to set it up.

Just ad a wearable watch that is rare to the loot table, people with the supporterpack simply spawn with one they can't loose.

Can't you just add some type of clock on the wall at the location?

Last I checked, 'supporter pack' that the wrist watch was tied to was $10 -basically the price of two cups of coffee for two of the team members. I think the devs are worth the cup of coffee so I sent them the $$

Just quickly, the way I acquit the reason I have a watch is that its contraband that I had stored in my prison wallet prior to being 'selected' for the Scum Island gladiatorial combat arenas... I also have other items stored for later... the most hilarious so far being an apple that was in 100% condition and edible -wasn't 'spoiled' ;P

Real life supermax prisons, watches are contraband

This. 100% agree. It's surprisingly easy to tell the time by the shadows and using the old school sun dial. (still waiting for it by the way)

Conversely, you can use an old analogue watch to also use a navigation tool

That's actually not bad of an idea...

But to play devils advocate; we're now flirting with other who may feel its an unfair advantage right, because I paid for the watch and you didn't and now you died you lost it and have to find one again... but i mean, time really doesn't make too much of a difference -once you've bee playing for a while you sort of get the feel for the day night cycle

Im on the side that thinks the game should have access to wrist watch time without additional purchase. Just make it harder to obtain.

Doesnt that just mean people having the watch have an advantage? I feel it is an advantage on the account i have it purchased on. At least i use it plenty down there.

Hi kir-kanos,

The watch itself is still blocked by clothing (long sleeves) but the time will also appear just above the hotbar in the lower left of the screen.

found or dlc, they should give it a (very slow) battery drain/requirement tbf I never use it, I check the server time before joining, but for the halloween thing, ofc its meaningful
