Yes, but not only the rain causes that fps drop.
A lot of people are having problems with that including myself. But the developers didnt say anything. It will be fixed when its be fixed. Take it or leave it. Just play another game in the meanwhile.

guess im off to other games then. died so much due to rain... kinda something that should be fixed sooner than later. also noticed the mech's guns cause lots of lag. meaning its rendering the particals of rain and ammo as thier own entities.

I was having a lot of major FPS drops, especially during stormy rainy weather. I noticed they were far less frequent, and the gameplay much more enjoyable, when i started doing a '#setweather 0' command every time it started looking like rain was in the offing. Single player only, of course. Rain and storms are definitely an FPS killer.

me. not all the time it rains and much less than 0.4 but yes, still there. As soon the wind start to blow, fps drop. And so I think it's not related to the rain effect, but something elese.

I drop from 70 to 30...not to 8.

I have a drop in fps during the rain as well, but i find that if i alt tab out of the game and then go back in it seems to help

Game's been unplayable for me since 0.5 because of all the fps dips. Sad because Scum is one of my favorite games.

Also if you are using DX11 (Recommended) or DX12 (Not Recommended)
And did you check the min/max Hardware requirements?

Try lowering/disable some of the graphics settings.

Depending on your PC you might want to use DX12 over DX11, I have a significant performance boost when I'm using DX12.
So consider that not all PCs are the same and won't have the same exact performance with those options.
