Why do you need polls when there are pinned feedback posts for comments?
They will conflict with each other.
The devs have already said they are not going to go back to the old system.

Keep the hordes, but go back to the old system for God's sake. We want to see zombies roaming around the map so we know where they are, we want to use up our rifle ammunition, I have a .50 Barret that I've never used, because I play on a PVE Server and the only targets I could practice shooting at no longer appear on the map.
AMEN!

Working on SKS animations.
Why waste the time working on an sks when the puppets spawn to close to use rifles effectively?
What are we supposed to do with it? Put a bayonet on the end of it and play stabby stabby on the puppets like we use the kar for now!
One of the biggest problems is that the "old system" (It's actually not a system, just a reaction.) was neither system friendly nor really expandable.
The Encounter Manager expands the possibilities immensely compared to before, but still has similarities in the sense that spawns will only happen within the player's radius.
Thanks to this system, implementation of additional NPC dangers is possible in many ways. The system is still quite fresh and there will be more work to be done here, even if it doesn't appear in the development updates, but it's mainly about fine-tuning and balancing.
Feedback still counts here and is read accordingly.
Is it!

This for a YES or NO if you would like animals to be brought back like how was it in the past.
PLEASE NO COMMENTS. It's just a survey to get players' opinions.

Since we have too many simple answers, without any addition information, I'll lock this thread. Thanks for feedback!
I can't wait for armed NPCs to walk through walls and shoot me from 1000 miles away, all made possible with this new system.
We're not even at the point of "fine tuning", we're at the point of coarse tuning. Fix instant-puppet-respawns, fix them phasing through walls (had 2 razors get me through the wall), fix beepers STILL spawning in after we've already entered an enclosed space with them.
All of this makes the game unenjoyable for people who want to do bunkers on harder settings than vanilla. You go into what appears to be an empty room, oh look now there's a beeper in front of me. Great.
Stop giving us DLC, stop giving us the ability to paint cars, stop giving us all this extra garbage. Fire the developers on those teams, those teams shouldn't exist at this point. Why do we have PAID DLC for a game that isn't even finished? Put every developer onto fixing holes in the map, fixing terrain loading issues, fixing puppet spawns. It's like hiring a painter to paint your house and the walls aren't even up yet ffs.
I know a bit about the process and I know this is "the socks before the shoes" so to speak
So I'm not bothered about spawn system. (I don't like it currently, but I'm willing to wait and see what the end result is.)
if we get to 1.0 and I'm told this is a final version and the spawn systems sux like it does now, then ok, I will have an opinion. They 100% are seeing all our feedback atm and Idk why they are quiet on it. Either they are sick of explaining it will be tweaked to a more playable state or.. They don't have the answers on how to retain the encounter system as well as fix the puppets so are just remaining quiet until they have a solution.
I have read that Day Z uses a very similar radius spawn but it has been refined much more to the point of it feeling natural, so hopefully our devs can do something similar here.

Hopefully devs will do some talking now.

On the other hand, some YouTubers say that the current puppet spawn is good for tension.

People have different opinions.
I have slow reflexes and a personality that wants to explore slowly after clearing an area.
I can understand the OP and Casual Wardog's opinion.
However, if the developers chose the current puppet spawn in their overall judgment, we should believe that it is a choice to make it even more interesting.
The scope of what the player sees is very small.
The developer sees the big picture.
I think there are interesting things waiting for us in the future that will make the problem of puppet spawn smaller.
The old one was meh, I agree and the new encounter manager could be fun if it worked but it's not. And possibly never will.
Fine tuning? Seriously?
The system is broken, no amount of fine tuning is going to fix this. Maybe play the game for a couple of hours before talking about "mainly fine tuning and balancing" lol
