The currently only known is, that NPC's and Quests will be part of the 1.0, however, there is no eta known about it and development is still on the path of 1.0 so there may be other patches and works inbetween that needs to be done prior.
After 2,000+ hours, I gave up after the fiasco following .8. Keep checking the forums to see if it's gotten better, and going by the comments it hasn't.
SCUM is in version 0.9.5. Still missing: quest, npc, movement rework (whatever that means, I'm scared) and a lot of things that don't quite work well. I don't know how they will do it, but what I do know is that after 9 comes 10 (0.10.1)... and that's what this game needs and, personally, I would be relieved to see.
The only difference is that they will promote 1.0 SCUM like it means something extra, so the " new game " hype will occur. Add to that cringeworthy variety streamers like "CornBarrage" and other annoying people pretending for 5 hours that they love the game... and we'll get full package of fake 1.0 reality.
Nobody "has to wait", either you like a game or you don't, the version doesn't really matter I think.
Well the version actually matters for example the older versions the zombies couldn't open doors neither calling their friends. i prefer this version where they couldn't because there are dead mentaly so it make sense for them to be on the survival instinct. I just hope the devs wont copy paste all the zombies from left for dead cause screamer its already in the game. (I like the standard zombies short and simple)
i agree completely , simple puppets, this is not L4D dear god no pukers, fliers, etc etc, it's not magic, it's a bcu controlled puppet. that's the draw here, a bit of sci-fi-ish realism not spoooooky magic stuff.
Everyone likes it the way they like it :D, as I said I don't think it's important.
The puppets in SCUM aren't regular zombies in that sense. Technically yes, but they are controlled by high-tech chips, so they aren't instinctively or parasitically driven. But the best thing is that it can be adjusted, and that brings us back to the point where everyone likes it the way they like it :D.
Pvp with AI will fill the void the max player count cannot.
Quests create more interaction with players. To work together or pvp.
Been waiting for 3 years for this. So yeah 1.0 changes a lot since devs won't add it until then. People have waited a long time for this and the devs have had more than enough time to add these.
Don't know about you but my expectations are high.
I am waiting for 1.0 because I am tired of wipes.
I understand the necessity of them, but would rather wait for 1.0
