I've previously suggested some ideas, but they were ignored. For instance, cigarettes, bandages, and more items that can be "disassembled" and "re-assembled" should be able to be merged or have a packaging. For example: I should be able to put loose cigarettes back into a cigarette box. Pins that are taken out should be able to be put back. A lunchbox for storing food should be able to hold more food items and can be placed in a backpack. Bullets packaging can be loose, boxed, or in a crate; larger packaging is realistic. Various identical foods and items like tea should be able to be reassembled, meaning putting them back. Nail stacking is good, but there should be a corresponding container, otherwise, it will ruin your backpack---

So, I've always supported the concept of reverse disassembly and fixed packaging. It's just that the game currently has no plans in this direction.

At least as far as the obvious ones are concerned. For example, if you have 2 2/20 lead plates in crafting and need 4 to craft them, the crafting system will combine both, even if you cannot combine or stack them. Since the crafting rework, leftovers can also be used if a single unit is missing somewhere but is present in a leftover.

This is because a feature of this kind requires inventory rework which is currently in progress.

99% of our inventory bugs and QOL additions to inventory itself require inventory rework.

while on the inventory reword PLEASE dont forget to add the option to select specific number of e.g. nails/bolts/pins to take out of box, auto-stack when removed. (crafted lock pick auto-stack.....debatable). Maybe even, just for more detail and immersion, the option to cut pumpkin/watermelon all or 2 slices. The use of empty glass to combine for "glass of juice/water/milk".

Special request for inventory rework: Please do not overlook the right-click-to drag functionality that we already have! I hate using mouse-wheel for that!
