EU #4 - ESP cheat

Did another test, quick one. Still presence of ESP cheaters.

Please devs, do this simple test.
Lock some rooms inside an area (town, city, etc.)
Place 1 chest inside one of those rooms with weapons or valuable stuff.
Place empty chest inside other rooms.
Or place a chest in very hard to spot location. I think you know better than me about that spots.

It will be gone in 1-2 days, with all other locked rooms untouched.
It's obivious.

ESP is the hardest form of cheating to detect. Only way, IMHO, is to place baits.
Do before that server will be empty again for ever.

Thanks Dw I've reported similar events but it is quite impossible to detect the use of ESP from logs. I've talked to some devs and some admins of private server and you need to be there when it happens to have a chance of have the proof.

And I understand that devs don't take this investigation lightly, banning only on a solid proof. Something that is not easy to get for that cheat.

At least in my small experience.

I think that the only solution is to place baits.
I can be your "bait placer" (don't know how it's called ^^)

Unfortunately, it's not that easy overall. The easiest way to describe it is like this:

Someone who intentionally does "evil" doesn't care about the law.

Someone who fights against "evil" obeys the law.

Accordingly, there are some hurdles that will unfortunately always be present when fighting cheats/hacks/ESP. Reports and reports from players who discover and report unfair or illegal behavior are a clear help and a clear message.

You shouldn't be afraid to report, you're setting a good example here, so keep it up. Report if you discover something, but don't forget to enjoy the game too. :)

Make bait:

I do exactly that when I suspect esp hacks or aimbot and it has worked.

It's really neat when this command is turned on and you can see exactly where the player is looking! They get recorded, reported and banned on our servers!

#visualizeplayeraiming <True/False> Enables or disables player aim direction visualization. Note: Only displays for the command giver.

You can actually see them looking right at the chest using this when there is no possible explanation of how they could have seen it...... Like through a wall!

Another example, you can be online and watch another player drive by them and stop further up ahead either looting or returning to their own base.
Sure enough the suspect player will go in that direction, look around and then head straight for the ride and base. I am not taking about when it is obvious where the vehicle went and stopped.

I love how many force log when you appear in drone right in their face and they know they have been caught. Not knowing you already know who they are!

Scum has some very great logs for admin use. It just sometimes takes time to put the pieces together when many are online.

You want concrete proof they were the one involved!

ESP is on the game since the first year of the release..The main problem isnt the ESP,we already got used of it and we adapt to fight it and i truly believe that will never got fixed..The main problems,which are brand new and still unfixable is the flying cars,the teleported bodies and the admin powers that cheaters have..There are too many to worry about and we need a solution asap..These cheats,sooner or later,they will destroy the game or the game will be played only from Asian players(in fact,already the majority of the players database comes from this region)..As a solution i can purpose that they can make some HVH servers(officials or not) so all the bad boys join them and fight each other :) #PRAYFORSCUM

Its alrdy that case! Check most pop eu server, there is no english in chat anymore. Chest stays max few hours, doesnt mater where they are. You cant fight teleporting chests and looting from locked chest, its over for now. I hope for a better time...

We do have measures of combating these on officials, but I do not want to give out the information and make it easier for cheaters to avoid these measures. For this reason as well I will unfortunately lock the thread.
