Regarding how much they are, at least in-game, well... it's a game, they can be of as much use as the devs decide and community feedback.
Edit: If I'm remembering correctly I think I saw silencers for revolvers IRL and those have a gap between the cylinder and barrel so that's also a questionable use.
There's one revolver which can be silenced, used by NKVD during WWII.
There's an ancient russian revolver wich could be suppressed (silenced) due to its mechanic of closing the gap between cylinder and barrel when ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but can't recall the name.
Anyway, off topic. Just wanted to throw that in.
We don't have plans for it at the moment, but maybe in the future, we might add them into the game. :)
That revolver is the M1895 Nagant revolver in 7,62x38mm, albeit being developed in Belgium it was mostly used by Imperial Russia and later the Soviet Union.
