but it depends if you will enjoy it...
some people can only get few hours outta ONLY pve
others can get thousands
but there is pve pure servers where you wont be bothered with PVP at all
Can we just start our own private server from within the game for the friend to easily join...and what is it that makes some players feel that only a few hours is all it's worth to them?
Besides that, it all depends on what you are looking for. There's a lot to do in this game, but there's no storyline or quests.
if you intend to take the game SLOW and not just rush through it you can get decent amount of hours
if you rush through all the pve stuff
or adapt quickly it might seem less rewarding
though by the sounds of it your playing with wife
if you got your wife struggling then its rewarding to teach and help her through it
but again its depends all how you play the game
and ATM no you cant local host or steam server the game yet
you need to rent a server
but eventually the devs should release the "free" server files so you CAN local host
theres A TON of PVE only servers though still to choose from
Sounds like maybe we should hold off awhile until there's an actual PvE mode with an abundance of content for that sort of thing.
the risk of being shot is ALWAYS there
you CAN go do nothing but shoot people
but that takes time and have your metabolisim under control
theres people that do nothing except kill people
but you hear them usualy screaming they have to worrry about eating and water etc AKA survival
We are playing an official PvE server and it is over-run by a bunch of toxic players who's only goal is to block as much content as possible for everyone else.
Every door that can be locked is, which not only stops entry but stops loot spawn in that building, so it's not to hoard loot, it's just to block it. If they can't lock a door, sometimes they just park a locked car in front of it and leave it there.
ALL the vehicles have been hoarded into bases, even bicycles. You can see 20+ cars/trucks just sitting in a base, this is just to stop others from having them. You will be on foot.
One day I saw a single bicycle for sale at the trader, because I check every time I am there in hopes some cars have been timed out. Before I could decide if I wanted to bother with just a bike, some dude showed up, bought it parked it just outside the trader zone, came back for his truck and drove off. The bike is still there almost a week later.
Been burned too many times for various reasons in private servers of many games to even bother with that any more.
If they can limit more doors from being locked, Garages at least, that may help, and limit the number of vehicles each player can lock to like 3-4 with unlocked cars despawning after 6 hours, that would be fantastice. :p
With the focus more on PvP severs I doubt there is much they can do to fix the few PvE servers.
i have been on both sides of this coin
i used to be heavy base builder but after getting shafted for the 100th time after spending a week grinding to be rolled in under 1 hour got me messed up
so IMO base building on a pvp enviroment is not worth it atm.
theres EXTREMELY god teir lockpickers that melt locks like its nothing
ATM IMO
if you are going to play on a pve server base building is rewarding af
can make some cool bases and it cant be yeeted IF the server is pve only
if you get shot in pvp
your gear you had on you can be stolen if found by another person
if you die by pve you can just go get your gear
usually no one will know your there
locking your house DEPENDING if you only have the "bcu lock" that requires you or a squad mates implant in your skull to unlock that lock
but most likely you will have more than just one lock
if its normal locks the bcu dosnt apply
but lockpickers can get at it
you can get lock zappers to help damage failed lock pick attempts on the picker
and again if on a pve server they most likely disabled lockpicking in bases and killing players so no fear there
If you can connect to East Coast US I can guarantee at least 1 but I know there are other private pve servers with a decent player base that is non toxic in other areas also!
You won't see the things that you listed.
