And shoes gets surprisingly quickly worn, even high quaility ones and certainly light shoes or low quality and especially when you trudge around like a madman all day in rough terrain and weather and carrying tons of weight.
I also think that the improvised bow #35 should require more than the default strength 3 to use effectively. I don't really see a point to #20 bow outside of strength 2 or below. I like tradeoffs so I do agree that #35 is a a bit too meta OP, there should be a greater tradeoff so that it wouldn't outclass #20 in nearly every category.
The influence on shoes is much stronger than that on the self-made bow.
A self-made bow is a processed piece of wood. (You can even do a lot more.) It doesn't have to suffer as much as the shoes and therefore has very little wear.
When it comes to shoes, there are differences. Sturdy shoes, sports shoes, women's shoes, etc., all of which can withstand very different loads. Sports shoes are among the least resilient types of shoes if you plan to move large loads. They are particularly suitable for long journeys with very simple equipment on clear paths (i.e. not off the road).
Sturdy footwear such as hiking boots or military boots are much more durable. The material is durable and can withstand greater loads. However, that is always a matter of the relationship.
An example. With my character I have set a personal goal of never carrying more than 20kg of equipment. Only with major exceptions (this varies most in the armament, for example) does it go to 21 or 22kg of equipment.
Because I follow this weight maxim, my shoes, even boots with heels, are very durable even in rough terrain because I simply put hardly any load on them. Even sports shoes last significantly longer this way.
The maintenance costs are generally less expensive for me and I usually only notice significant wear after several kilometers of travel, where the boots have lost around 22-24% durability. I could reduce this even further if I avoided rough terrain, etc
So it makes a difference how much you carry, how fast, on what terrain. These are all factors that can have a negative impact on the shoes, in addition to regular wear and tear caused by the body's own weight. If you combine calculations here in a “basic calculation model example”, a person weighing 75kg carries equipment weighing 35kg (flat rate). This means that the total weight on the boots is already 110kg and all without movement. Shoes have to withstand a large amount of energies of different types and accordingly during hard physical activity such as survival, for example, shoes do not last very long and you have to take a lot of care for them.
The bow in game is a solid branch not a Proper crafted bow. It's also corked at one end, Not good for bows. But it wouldn't snap easily at all, Esp not with it being that thick, Though you'd have to draw what looks like a 60ish lbs. TLDR Is good enough of a bow to not snap after use.
they are to be found in the game world or purchased at the Outposts.
