how do u cook now in v .95 with skewer

like the title says im trying to cook some chicken meat and i can't ge the dang skewer to work any help would be greatly appreciated

You don't build a skewer.
Build a campfire, Light the campfire, interact with the campfire holding F and selecting cook food.

Click one of the 2 skewer boxes that appear.
Click meat Skewer.
Click add recipe the Bottom.

The recipe appears, drag your meat into slot for meat, and click the chefs hat.
If the recipe did not appear, instead it returned to the screen with 2 skewer utility slots, repeat the 3 steps above until it does appear.

And note you can only cook the chicken meat, not the drumsticks. You'll need the BBQ book for that.
