theres no player locks in bunkers
they LOOK the same but are 1000% easier.... well the bronze ones
locking sheds in danger areas is a tactic....
You COULD kill the mechs to lockpick the guarded shed...
but ya know will the risk and ammo waste be worth it?...
most people think that naval shed if you know, you know
the reason they put the "pre made" locks in loot table is because they are trying to balance the time it takes to get locks on bases... instead of the padlock>then locks
(dumb imo, devs its not the time it takes to get locks its the locks themselves)
though that also allows randoms to just toss the found pre-made locks on any old door and giggle that its gonna be there for long time un touched
aka the trolls we hear about
i would agree that caused alot more random doors to be locked for no reason
i will keeep saying it the current locks are traaash and only offer the facade of secure
idk theres alot that needs to be worked out with locks....
why not have a mech patrol the outside of the shed... protecting my loot =p
Ok that sort of makes sense I guess.
Every shed in most towns being locked is frustrating though
been seeing that alot more... i guess some locks should despawn if un-opened for set time?
They should just allow a player to snap off locks on non player stuff with a crowbar if the door/locker has not been opened by the lock owner within 24hrs. For the sake of realism, say its acid rain that Tec01 is creating with chem trails from their loot drops, wearing out locks that dont have wd40 sprayed on them within 24hrs
+1 from my side, I don't like to easily find locks around.
[btw You don't need to go anywhere else if you farm AB. You can find anything there not just locks. And this is deadly to the game IMHO]
For sure they need to remove them from scrapyard. You can drop 10+ locks in one single run (10-15 min). If you're lucky, you can drop 2-3 gold, 6-8 silver, and tons of iron ones.
Solution is to add a FP cost on placing locks or add a despawn timer if not used by the owner.
I believe we need both of your suggestions. Add a decay to all player placed locks along side an FP cost to deploy them on doors.
With the new implementation of loot not spawning in containers that reside within a building with a locked door, it has become incredibly easy to grief a server after just one or two Junk Yard runs.
there IS "world locks" on lockers and things that contain better loot
its not players that put them on lockers....
doors yea but not "everything" is a player lock
Yeah I dont mean the locked lockers and containers etc I specifically mean the amount of pre mad elocks around the map and people just locking sheds in towns to be toxic and never come back onto the servers
Say I loot 10 towns pretty much all of those sheds will be locked with player attached locks
